John Stambelos is Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan's CIO where he helps the firm manage its IT operations and take advantage of the many emerging and exciting changes in legal technology. John draws upon his experience as a technologist and senior leader at some of the world’s most well-regarded law firms to help provide the firm with top-notch IT services encompassing cybersecurity, large office relocations, project and risk management, IT policy development, budget oversight, business continuity, and concierge remote trial support. He also helps support key client relationships by working directly with their representatives during frequent IT security assessments and guides firm leaders through complex technology decisions. Besides keeping the firm’s data safe, John helps reduce organizational risk and provide sound change leadership.

Before joining Quinn Emanuel, John was the founder of a cybersecurity consulting firm that helped its clients investigate large-scale data security breaches and implement strong cybersecurity programs. Using some of the same techniques he cultivated while safeguarding sensitive data for some of the world’s most prestigious law firms, John built a consulting practice that provided cybersecurity services to Fortune 500 companies, international law firms, financial service firms and Silicon Valley start-ups.
