We are looking for a Senior Fire Protection Engineer & Team Lead in our Alexandria, VA office (Hybrid role).
Our Fire Protection Department services include fire alarm and detection system design, high-rise buildings, large campus fire alarm and protection, sprinkler, emergency communications and more.
Some of your responsibilities include the following:
Design of fire suppression and fire alarm systems throughout all company market sectors including academic, commercial, healthcare, science and technology, and mission critical.
The engineer will be responsible for designs of automatic sprinklers, standpipes, high-rise fire pumps, gaseous agent suppression, fire alarms, voice evacuation, mass notification, special technology fire detection and smoke control.
Coordinate with the design team and/or construction staff to lead related portions of construction planning and visit the project construction site throughout the construction administration process along with field reports, RFI responses, and FP / FA shop drawing and submittal reviews.
Design and layout systems, and create drawings using Revit, AutoCAD, and HydraCALC.
Survey existing project sites to document existing conditions and to assess existing FP / FA infrastructure.
Coordinate workload and schedules of multiple concurrent projects with junior engineering staff.
Lead and mentor junior engineering staff.
Essential Skills & Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Fire Protection Engineering.
10+ years of professional fire protection engineering industry experience designing fire protection and fire alarm systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit with fluency in MS Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook and cloud tools. Strong communication and computer skills are required.
The preferred candidate will have excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills.
Candidate must have the ability to create and modify technical drawings and specifications.
Customer service perspective with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
PE required. LEED preferred.

**Job Overview**
Jensen Hughes is seeking a highly motivated and experienced **Fire Alarm Consultant** to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of fire alarm and mass notification systems, applicable codes and standards (NFPA, IBC, etc.), and hold a **NICET Level III or IV in Fire Alarm Systems** . This role involves designing, evaluating, and consulting on fire alarm systems for various project types and client needs.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform fire alarm and mass notification system consulting and design, including system layout, equipment, device and appliance placement, riser diagrams, sequence of operations, battery and voltage drop calculations, and creation of project specifications.
+ Create fire alarm shop drawings and review shop drawing submittal packages produced by installation contractors.
+ Conduct site assessments and field surveys to evaluate existing fire alarm installations.
+ Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings for code compliance.
+ Prepare detailed technical reports, drawings, and specifications in accordance with project requirements.
+ Conduct testing and commissioning activities including developing test plans, witnessing testing and providing test reports.
+ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, architects, and AHJs.
+ Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and assist with NICET training as needed.

Responsibilities

The Construction Lead Mechanical Field Engineer is responsible for activities of the mechanical field engineering team relating to construction engineering within the piping discipline. Architectural interns work within the Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) Engineering Department and work in multi-disciplinary teams to provide support to CSA aspects of our projects. This includes architecture of industrial facilities, power plants, or commercial facilities.
**Architectural interns may be responsible for:**
+ Preparing and reviewing drawings and specifications.
+ Contributing to the design process by utilizing software platforms including Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, or Sketchup.
+ Demonstrating awareness of the implications of building codes and project requirements.
+ Working collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment to produce integrated project documents.
+ Attending project team meetings.
+ Assisting in product research.
+ Providing construction support as it relates to architectural design activities.
# Education and Experience Requirements:
**Basic Qualifications**
+ Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Architecture or Bachelor of Science degree program with a major in Architecture at an accredited college or university.
+ Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies.

Job Summary:
The Workforce Services Accommodation and Housing Analyst is a key development position accountable for the as analysis of accommodation and housing data to support accommodation studies and reports requested by GBU's within the USA.

Major Responsibilities:

* Develops presentations and materials to support project proposals
* Has the ability to liaise with senior executives of the business
* Can manage own priorities and workloads as required to fulfill the role effectively

Education and Experience Requirements:
* Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.

* 5 years' or more progressive experience in Construction HR/LR/IR management
