Strategic Procurement Executive is an experienced logistics professional responsible for sourcing and developing partner carrier relationships. This includes managing both existing and future customer loads - including pickup, transit, and on-time delivery - while maximizing margins and providing exceptional service.

Strategic Procurement Executive responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Manage and continually develop business relationships with our customers and carriers
Ensure that customers freight is covered by managing the pickup, transit and on-time delivery
Recruit and source contract carriers and validate contract eligibility
Present multiple modes of transportation options to your customer base
Negotiate rates with partner carriers to ensure we are able to continue to offer competitive rates to our customers
Dispatch carriers and properly update loads within our transportation management system
Maintain contact with carriers and internal business partners to ensure the shipper and consignee are aware of any challenges or issues that may arise
Consistently track and trace freight movements from origination to destination taking full responsibility for any occurrences while solving them both constructively and efficiently
Continuously develop the carrier base by making outbound calls to build new relationships and expand coverage solutions for our customers
Communicate daily with partner carriers to understand where their equipment is located and what type of haul they are looking to cover
Utilize partner carriers truck lists and external load boards to assist with matching customer needs with carrier abilities
Timely and accurately input information into the transportation management system to ensure system integrity
Provide unmatched Customer Service through daily conversations, actively listening to customers in order to identify needs, provide solutions, educate and build relationships
Qualification, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High school Diploma or GED
Bachelor's Degree in Business or similar field of study with emphasis in: Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, Sales, Marketing, or International Business preferred
5+ years' experience working in a full truckload environment
Have the drive, assertiveness, passion, and dedication to succeed in the logistics
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
Ability to handle and prioritize high call volumes and customer inquiries while exuding a high level of customer service
Strong negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to work flexible schedule

Previous experience with transportation management systems and loads boards; McLeod preferred

About the role - CDL Class B Driver (Bloomsburg, PA)
We are excited to announce an opportunity at Orica for a CDL Class B Driver within our Orica USA Commercial team.
This role will be responsible for driving and operating Orica's bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) and installing blasting products for our customers at local construction sites, mines, and quarries as well as being accountable for the upkeep and maintenance of the equipment.
This is a hybrid role that consists of approximately 40% driving and 60% physical work related to the installation of blasting products. About the role - CDL Class B Driver (Zephyr, TX)
We are excited to announce an opportunity at Orica for a CDL Class B Driver within our Orica USA Commercial team.
This role will be responsible for driving and operating Orica's bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units ) and installing blasting products for our customers at local construction sites, mines, and quarries as well as being accountable for the upkeep and maintenance of the equipment.
This is a blended role that consists of 40% driving and 60% physical work related to the installation of blasting products. Responsibilities include product loading, driving a CDL truck, pulling hoses, and climbing on and off the truck in all types of weather conditions.
Additionally, this role will operate plant and equipment to provide blasting products while assisting in delivering a high-quality service of bulk explosives to customers. What you will be doing
This is a hybrid position, consisting of approximately 40% driving and 60% physical work.

Ensure raw materials and hazardous goods are handled, stored, and used in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

About the role - CDL Class B Driver (Louisville, TN)
We are excited to announce an opportunity at Orica for a CDL Class B Driver within our Orica USA Commercial team.
This role will be responsible for driving and operating Orica's bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) and installing blasting products for our customers at local construction sites, mines, and quarries as well as being accountable for the upkeep and maintenance of the equipment.
This is a hybrid role that consists of approximately 40% driving and 60% physical work related to the installation of blasting products. Responsibilities include loading products, driving a Class B CDL truck, pulling hoses, operating manufacturing units control systems, and climbing on and off the bulk truck in various weather conditions.
Additionally, this role will operate equipment to provide blasting products while assisting in delivering a high-quality service of bulk explosives to customers. We prioritize safety and strive to ensure that all operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times.
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday
Local driving (2-3 hours)
Early morning starts at approximately 4 AM - 5 AM
Work approximately 10-12 hours per day
Overtime may be needed
Up to 10% overnight travel may be required
What you will be doing
This is a hybrid position, consisting of approximately 40% driving and 60% physical work.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking and refilling fluid levels.
Operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks as part of daily responsibilities.
Ensure raw materials and hazardous goods are handled, stored, and used in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Minimize environmental impact through waste reduction and control practices.
Immediately report any unusual incidents or accidents.
Actively participate in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings to promote a safe and collaborative work environment.
What you will bring
Minimum of one year of experience in driving and/or material handling (preferred).
Solid understanding of DOT regulations (required).
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Excellent attention to detail and basic math skills to manage daily inventory tasks.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects, daily responsibilities, and urgent situations to maintain efficiency.
Physical Requirements
Work is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds and carry 50 pounds or more of product or materials.
Requires the ability to load product, pull large hoses, fill drilled holes, and climb on and off trucks.
Frequent shoveling of gravel to fill drilled holes throughout the day.
Regular pushing and pulling while working with equipment.
Other physical activities include frequent bending, squatting, and general mobility throughout the workday.
Your qualifications
Valid Class B CDL required (Class A is a plus).
Tanker endorsement preferred.
Hazmat endorsement preferred.
Willingness to obtain endorsements-support will be provided.
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Hourly Pay Range: $22-$24
Signing Bonus $4,500
