The Custodian serves as an important part of ensuring the health and wellness of all Racker employees and individuals receiving Racker services. The custodian works independently, and also as part of the Facilities Team to ensure the safety, cleanliness and overall functionality of the Racker facilities. Responsibilities Routinely clean assigned buildings; sweep, dust, mop, vacuum, strip, and wax floors on a regular or as needed basis Remove trash and recyclable materials Clean rest room facilities daily; supply with sufficient paper products Wash walls, window and sills on a regular basis Sweep/shovel snow from stairs/walks to building entrances; keep clean from debris Check and lock or unlock building entrances Assist custodial supervisor in the completion of duties as outlined under the Facilities Department Uphold standards of professionalism with regard to behavior and dress Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned Ownership/usage of personal smartphone for documentation purposes required. Qualifications Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent; clean New York State driver's license Experience: Experience and demonstrated ability to provide custodial services efficiently and skillfully, Knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures, understanding of governmental regulations for a safe workplace. Physical Requirements: ability to lift more than 50 pounds, Ability to understand labeled instructions, as chemicals and substances require careful use and buffer and other power equipment require close attention; some use of protective devices; familiarity with computer use, i.e. e-mail and electronic work requests via a web based system as well as managing personal employee account information via web based systems.
