Position Summary The Fire Protection Sales Representative is responsible for developing new business and expanding existing client relationships within the Central Virginia and Hampton Roads markets. This individual will estimate and propose fire alarm and fire sprinkler inspection services and construction projects, while ensuring compliance with NFPA standards. The role requires a strong mix of technical knowledge, client-facing sales experience, and project coordination. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales * Identify, pursue, and secure new opportunities for inspection, service, and construction contracts. * Develop relationships with general contractors, building owners, facility managers, and AHJs. * Conduct site visits and needs assessments to determine client requirements. * Prepare and present proposals tailored to client needs. * Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and activities in CRM software. * Meet or exceed established sales targets and performance metrics. * Represent the company at networking events, pre-bid meetings, and industry trade shows. Estimating & Proposal Development * Review RFPs and construction documents for scope, specifications, and general conditions. * Perform takeoffs and prepare cost estimates for fire alarm and fire sprinkler inspection contracts and projects. * Solicit pricing from subcontractors and vendors; analyze quotes for completeness and compliance. * Coordinate bid strategy with company leadership and participate in bid reviews. * Develop scope narratives and assist with subcontractor and material procurement planning. * Assist with pre-construction planning and turnover meetings to operations teams. * Enter estimates into project management/job costing systems Technical & Compliance Knowledge * Understand layout, design, and code requirements of fire protection systems. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NFPA codes, including NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 24. * Utilize hydraulic calculation and estimating software tools effectively. * Support internal teams with fire protection expertise during project execution. The Human Research Protection Specialist will assist with oversight of human research protection programs, Institutional Review Boards (IRBs), human subject protection standards, policy and procedure development, and regulatory compliance. Assists in the development and implementation of human subject protection standards, policies, procedures and systems relative to clinical research and cross-discipline human subject research, research subject protection, and institutional and investigator compliance. Serves as point-of-contact for assigned Commands and provide guidance and oversight, as needed. Provides consultation for updating regulations and policies at the component level. Assesses Command compliance with federal and institutional regulations and policies through the following tasks: Periodically reviews Command Assurances for the protection of human research subjects. Assurance reviews can include an application, Command Instructions, IRB roster, IRB Policies and Procedures, agreements with other Commands, and summaries of training for key staff. Reviews and analyzes institution-specific Management Plans, Instructions, policies, and procedures.
