Job Summary and Qualifications
Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients.
Responsible for safe handling of equipment and films.
Assesses patient's understanding of process and informed consent of invasive procedures.
Assesses, evaluates and informs physician of changes in patient's condition during exam.
Selects appropriate equipment to use for procedure.
Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.
Makes special radiographic examinations requiring special equipment and procedures such as: intravenous pyelograms, intravenous cholangiograms, bronchograms, mammograms, hysterosalpingograms, tomograms, cholangiography, arthrograms, myelograms and ho pinnings in surgery.
Programs portable or stationary x-ray machines and makes radiograms for a variety of examinations.
Processes x-ray film, if a darkroom technician is not available.
Practices medical and surgical; aseptic procedures.
Assists in maintaining basic records and reports.
Assists in maintaining files.
Competent in the use of CR and PACS.
Assists in training of students and ancillary personnel.
Takes x-ray, CAT, U/S and Angio calls according to monthly schedule after the closing of the regular department hours.
Interacts professionally with patient/family.
Completes all work before clocking out and leaving. This includes checking with nurse's stations.
Is acquainted with local fire and safety regulations.
Has knowledge of hospital policies and the functions of other departments.
Compiles and maintains quality assurance information for mammography, in accordance with ACR, State of Louisiana, Department of Health Standards, the FDA and the DHHS.
Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the following age groups: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, geriatric and general population.
Able to modify job duties and communicate with customers in an age appropriate manner.
Appropriately assesses the patient's pain and involves the patient in effective management of pain using age appropriate interventions.
Meets dress code standards; appearance is neat and clean.
Completes annual educational requirements.
Maintains regulatory requirements.
Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time.
Consistently completes and maintains assigned duties; maintains PAR levels.

Radiologic Technologist will be required to perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures. The technologist will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed. Reviews and interprets physician order for the diagnostic x-ray procedure accurately.
Validates all patient identification before performing any diagnostic x-ray procedure accurately.

Validates proper working conditions and technical factors of all imaging equipment and procedure room.

Technologist Currently recruiting a Radiologic Technologist in Jena, LA to coordinate complex clinical operations at a facility that houses individuals detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The Radiologic Technologist will perform conventional radiology imaging of patients, who may include adult men and women and children. + Takes radiologic images of head, trunk, and extremities for routine physical examinations and for diagnosis of illness or injuries.

Radiologic Technologist will be required to perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures. The technologist will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed.
