Essential Functions:
Produce x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist ensuring clear and undistorted films. Position and instruct patients regarding x-ray procedures.
Perform x-ray procedures using portable machine as requested by Emergency Department and nursing units.
Process films for radiologists reading/interpretation following established procedures.

* Maintain a neat, organized, and sanitary work environment at all times by adhering to established infection control procedures and hygiene protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff.

Departmental Expectations

· Clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining equipment repairs in a timely manner and following written procedures for placing service calls.
· Perform and record quantity and quality control checks to assure x-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.
· Maintain a neat, organized, and sanitary work environment at all times by adhering to established infection control procedures and hygiene protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff.

Scope:
Produce x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist ensuring clear and undistorted films. Position and instruct patients regarding x-ray procedures.
Perform x-ray procedures using portable machines as requested by the Emergency Department and nursing units.
Process films for radiologists reading/interpretation following established procedures.
Prepare or clean patient rooms by changing linens, stocking supplies and wiping off tables and equipment ensuring an efficient and clean working environment.
Protect patients from undue exposure to radiation by using lead shields and various safety factors.
Prepare and assist in administering contrast agents by monitoring dosages and determining any potential allergies ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures.
Maintain patient information as needed by purging or updating patient film jackets and/or filing reports or film files to ensure accurate patient records.
Maintain imaging and processing equipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests and documenting results. Contact service personnel and notify supervision of malfunctioning equipment.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent, required.
Successful completion of an approved radiological training program and the ability to meet the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required.
Current license/certification in the state of practice, required.
Possess a current Basic Life Support Certification, or obtain certification within one month of employment, required.
At least one (1) year of experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility or department, preferred.

NextCare Urgent Care is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic RadiologyTechnician (RT) or Limited Scope Operator (LSO) that likes the challenge of a fast pace setting and working in a team environment. Responsibilities
The RadiologyTechnician (RT) or Limited Scope Operator (LSO) is responsible for performing patient care duties under the Radiology scope of practice in the urgent care setting as follows:
* Performs radiology duties within the scope of practice as stated in NextCare Policies and Procedures, as well as the state appropriate Radiation Rules and Regulations.
* Assists provider with exams (including patient vitals), procedures and other processes related to direct patient care under direct supervision of the Provider and within the scope of practice.
* Administers all forms of medications per policy and under Provider direction and adheres to all safety protocols and procedures for medication administration.
* May be responsible for urine collection for various testing to include employer drug screens
* May perform splinting and casting
* Conduct various type physicals such as sports physicals
* Performs other related duties specific to urgent care.
* Notifies the provider on duty promptly of all unusual patient occurrences including medication events on an incident report.
* Promptly notifies the Clinic Manager of patient or employee safety concerns.
* Follows guidelines and requirements of laboratory and clinical accreditation policies.
* Must be proficient in EMR/EHR
* Performs other related duties as assigned or described by Company policy.
How you will make an impact
The X-Ray Tech supports the organization with customer service and treating all of our patients with respect and dignity. They provide patient care services in the back office urgent care setting, which will meet the specific needs of the patient.
Essential Education, Experience and Skills:
Education: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; AND diploma or certificate from an accredited radiology school and/or equivalent experience.
License: Certified RadiologyTechnician (RT) or Limited Scope Operator (LSO)
Certification: Current healthcare professional level CPR certification issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, American Safety Health Institute or National Safety
