Job Summary: The X-Ray Tech performs basic to complex diagnostic radiographic procedures as requested by a licensed physician, including operation of special imaging and radiology equipment. Skilled at sterile field assistance during operating room and pain management procedures.
Perform the described duties in the primary work area and demonstrate competency in the following:
* Outpatient diagnostic Radiology, Fluoroscopy
* Perform a variety of technical tasks involved in operating x ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body as specified by physician; adjust equipment for proper exposure, voltage and current in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
* Determine, prepare and set up medical supplies, instruments and equipment; explain x ray procedures to patients; position patients for each anatomical view specified using immobilization and protective devices as required; report any changes in patient condition to attending medical staff.

The Orthopaedic X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures, including extremities, spine, and other orthopaedic studies, with an emphasis on same-day imaging to support timely diagnosis and treatment. This role ensures patient safety through proper positioning, use of lead shielding, and adherence to radiation safety principles (ALARA).
Key duties include operating and maintaining imaging equipment, accurately documenting patient and exam information, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as HIPAA and OSHA. * Shows ability to function in any position in the radiology department, including 3 floors and 43 exam rooms.
* Accurately enters and bills charges for procedures.
* Types all demographic patient information from the patient's chart into PACS.
* Plans and /or implements safe transfer of patients in wheelchair.
* Contributes to an effective quality management and quality control program for assigned areas that is consistent with overall quality plan of ONS.
* Monitors Quality Assurance activities in accordance with guidelines set forth within the department
