Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist performs advanced imaging procedures using radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images that aid physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. They ensure patient safety, maintain equipment functionality, and collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver accurate and effective diagnostic results.
Essential Work Functions:
Educate patients about imaging procedures and answer questions if they arise
Prepare and operate advanced radiologic equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images according to physician orders
Maintain equipment and sterilize the room in which procedure takes place
Evaluate images for quality, present images and preliminary findings to physicians and health care team
Maintain and inspect imaging equipment for proper functionality, troubleshooting issues and reporting malfunctions as needed
Document all imaging procedures and technical details accurately in patient records
Follow hospital safety rules and procedures including infection control and radiation safety protocols
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of Radiologic Technologist practice
Required Essential Skills:

The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills

Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail

This position performs radiology examinations following organizational and radiology standards when ordered by a physician or other allied health practitioners for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the Radiologist. This position is located at Black River Memorial Hospital:
80 hours per pay period, Night Shift, Monday - Thursday (7:30 pm - 5:30 am)
Essential Duties Include:
Performs radiographic and CT exams on patients. Provides the best images possible to radiologists and providers for interpretation.
Communicates pertinent patient information promptly to the appropriate technologist and/or radiologist.
Applies the concepts of CT and radiology when performing examinations on patients.
Administers contrast and necessary medications per established protocols.
Provides high-quality service to customers cost-effectively and efficiently.
Educational Qualifications:
Graduate or graduating within 3 months with an Associate degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology program
American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) required or within 3 months of employment
Current Wisconsin State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist or within 6 months of employment
