Essential Functions: Prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Perform diagnostic imaging procedures from defined protocols. Ensure patient comfort and safety during imaging exams. Import and burn CDs as needed for physicians and patients. Maintain examination rooms by stocking necessary medical and radiologic supplies. Escort patients to and from waiting rooms and exam rooms. Ability to identify equipment problems and correct if possible; notify supervisor. Ability to analyze situations and develop solutions. Ethical reasoning and decision-making. Time management, prioritization, and sense of urgency. Excellent verbal written and communication skills. Maintain patient confidentiality. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods, work longer than eight (8) hour shifts, and to work both day/evening shifts. Is able to work well with all types of patients and presents a friendly professional demeanor. Checks orders, organizes paperwork, and presents to Radiologist in a professional and confidant manner. Verifies all information. Informs proper person of needed supplies and keeps rooms stocked and cleaned. Obtains accurate phone reports and relays message. Performs EKG's. Merge previous images into the PAC's. Scans previous reports and outside orders into the RIS. Calls inside and outside sites to locate prior exams.
