Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist performs advanced imaging procedures using radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images that aid physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. They ensure patient safety, maintain equipment functionality, and collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver accurate and effective diagnostic results.
Essential Work Functions:
Educate patients about imaging procedures and answer questions if they arise
Prepare and operate advanced radiologic equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images according to physician orders
Maintain equipment and sterilize the room in which procedure takes place
Evaluate images for quality, present images and preliminary findings to physicians and health care team
Maintain and inspect imaging equipment for proper functionality, troubleshooting issues and reporting malfunctions as needed
Document all imaging procedures and technical details accurately in patient records
Follow hospital safety rules and procedures including infection control and radiation safety protocols
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of Radiologic Technologist practice
Required Essential Skills:

The position is responsible for providing basic technical patient care skills under the direction and supervision of the licensed healthcare practitioner. This position provides radiographic examinations on all age groups served by the entity within the scope of the Express Care Center or Outpatient department practice. The Radiology Technologist Express Care works in close collaboration with an assigned licensed healthcare practitioner to coordinate the patient flow in a manner which is efficient, professional, quality and safe for patient care. Job requires the employee to provide front desk duties including registration, deployment of legal, ethical and compliance related documents, collections, phlebotomy, EKG, vitals, X-Ray and lab services as well as other duties assigned to safely treat the patients. Supports all regulatory standards, National Patient Safety Goals, Universal Precautions, Infection Control Guidelines, patient and employee safety principles along with HIPAA policies. Performs high-quality CT portion of Diagnostic PET Scan as per Radiologists protocol.
Enters and transmits patient information to PACS for interpretation/reading promptly upon completion of examination.
Adjusts equipment, determines proper technique, and arranges immobilization and support devices to obtain correct patient position.
Communicates effectively with hospital employees, physicians, and patients.
Answers phones and problem solves as needed.
Practices radiation safety at all times and adheres to all clean sweep guidelines and infection control standards per policy.

The X-Ray Technician is a trained medical professional performing radiological duties in compliance with regulatory and departmental requirements. The duties of the X-ray Technician vary from setting to setting, depending on the size, location and type. The X-ray Technician will perform radiographic exams, ordered by the physician, that are technically satisfactory, properly positioned and processed adequately. All exams must be performed using the ALARA principle to minimize radiation dose to the patient.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Positions patient under X-ray machine, adjusts immobilization devices, and provides appropriate radiation protection; adjusts switches regulating length and intensity of exposure
+ Performs a variety of patient care activities to assist physicians including procedures, EKG's, phlebotomy and injections.
+ Prepares reports and maintains records of services rendered; maintains radiological film files and storage, pulls X-rays as required for referrals and/or copying; keeps logs for x-rays sent out for referrals. Keeps an updated log that consolidates X-rays performed against reports received.
+ Maintains supplies, equipment, practices OSHA safety standards, performs accurate, legal and ethical documentation at all times.
+ Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
+ Must have excellent oral written and communication skills and empathy towards our patients at all times.
+ Ability to effectively collaborate with team members, including doctors, nurses, front desk staff, center managers and market leaders.
