Radiology Technologist FT Days Position Summary
Under minimal supervision, performs basic to complex diagnostic radiographic procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. Exercises professional judgment in providing health care services, applying x-ray energy, to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Produces high quality diagnostic radiographs, rotates through advanced areas of diagnostic radiology to include OR, Urography, open reductions, myelography, arthrography, placements, and trauma; assists practitioner with fluoroscopy, arthrography, OR procedures and trauma.
THE RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST FT NIGHTS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
Education:
Required: Graduate of accredited imaging program
Preferred: Bachelor's degree
Experience:
Required: 2 years of experience in an acute care setting
Certifications:

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role involves preparing and positioning patients, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring accurate image capture while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety and comfort. The technologist also assists with fluoroscopic and special procedures, performs bone density (DEXA) scans as needed, and ensures proper handling of contrast media.
This position requires a high level of technical skill, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. The technologist must demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. A strong focus on safety, quality control, and continuous improvement is essential. Flexibility to work at multiple locations and varied shifts is required.
Radiologic Technologist Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Must be able to go beyond duties in order to do what is best for the patients and department.
Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures.
Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.
Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
Moves imaging equipment into specified position, determines exposure factors on basis of height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required, and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
Performs specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
Performs Bone Density procedures (Dexa) when needed.
Assists radiologist in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
Measures and mixes barium and contrast media.
Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
Demonstrates a commitment to “World Class Customer Service”
Prepares images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician.
Performs routine maintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, and makes minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
Completes forms and maintains records, logs, and reports of work performed.
Must be flexible to work at multiple locations, must be flexible to work varied shifts.
