Under the direction of radiologist, performs Special Procedure as well as other mammography examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Maintain all necessary records etc logging patient data in log book and Performs tasks related to MQSA. Review tech pair review of images. In conjunction with clerical schedulers and technologist Maintains a constant workflow with the technologist. Assist physician during biopsy procedures as needed. Maintain supplies pertaining to Mammography.
Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for imaging diagnosis and image guided treatment. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.
Obtain mammographic analog/digital images as well as other images: This task includes the proper setting of exposures factors and imaging equipment to obtain high quality images for diagnosis by the radiologist. Train other associates and students in special procedures.
The shift for this position varies
8:00-4:30pm including Saturdays
8:30-5pm including Saturdays
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
Satisfactory completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and meets the requirements for certification by the ARRT; specific to Mammography
Licensed by the State of New York; required.
Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
2 years experience preferred

Imaging and Procedure Assistance:
Operate imaging equipment (X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound) during procedures to assist the medical team in real-time.
Adjust imaging equipment settings to ensure optimal image quality.
Assist in the sterile setup and maintenance of equipment during procedures.
Document imaging and procedure details, including patient data and technical parameters.
Equipment Maintenance and Sterilization:
Clean, sterilize, and maintain equipment used in interventional procedures.
Ensure that all necessary supplies and tools are available before procedures.
Troubleshoot and report malfunctioning equipment.
Clinical Support:
Assist in post-procedure care and monitoring of patients.
Prepare and administer contrast agents as directed by the physician.
Monitor patient vital signs during the procedure.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and comfort.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including radiation protection.
Follow institutional policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate records of procedures and patient outcomes.
Ensure all patient confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines are followed.
Continual Learning:
Stay current with new techniques and technologies in interventional radiology.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
