    Under the direction of a director or other licensed radiologic technologist, assumes the responsibility and accountability for producing diagnostic procedures on anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site radiologist. The Radiologic Technologist Student (referred to as student) maintains a safe environment and conducts patient education as necessary. Under the guidance of a site radiologist and direct supervision of a licensed radiologic technologist, administers contrast agents according to site-specific protocols. Utilizes established policies and procedures of WCCH and maintains clinical competencies through continuing education. Once student finishes college and sits for registry, candidate will be expected to accept role within Wythe County Community Hospital. Currently enrolled in accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy BCLS certified within 30 days from date of hire Image quality competency completion required within 90 days Successful completion of an orientation program. Ability to accept on-call assignments for regularly scheduled shifts when acuity and/or census indicates need. Will be available to report to facility within 60 minutes of notification. This status will be determined by Department Director or Administrator on call.
