The CT Technologist is responsible for preparing patients for diagnostic procedures, explaining scans, positioning patients to capture appropriate images, and operating equipment to produce cross-section images of bones, organs, and tissue. Responsibilities Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner. Understand and complete necessary requisitions for ordered exams in a timely manner. Schedule all exams in a timely manner. Perform diagnostic Radiographic/Fluoroscopic C-arm exams on patients in the department and with portable equipment. Inject IV contrast media as needed. Perform a variety of examinations, reconstructions, and various printing protocols by the Radiologist. Identify various types of mechanical and electronic equipment failures to accurately diagnose problems with radiographic machines and processors. Explain the procedure to the patient and answer any questions related to the equipment or the procedure. Properly move and transport patients to and from the department as required. Order necessary supplies and maintain par levels.
