Performs a variety of x-ray procedures to include diagnostic, fluoro, OR/C-Arm. Additional duties may include EKG, phlebotomy, obtaining vital signs and other tasks as needed. Rotating call. Assists with room set up and keeps the patient care areas well stocked. The Radiologic Technologist, under general supervision of a Radiologist, performs radiology procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.
Safely operates a variety of mobile and stationary x-ray units to produce high quality images under the supervision of a Radiologist and in accordance with ALARA principles.
Physical Requirements
The ability to perform the duties and responsibility of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations for disabilities.
The ability to consistently lift, push or pull loads of up to fifty (50) pounds. (Unless nursing 50)
Sufficient strength, mobility and stamina to make frequent location and position changes, assist with patient care, and perform other physical activities of average difficulty.

Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
Documents pregnancy status of female patients of child bearing age and the shielding precautions taken in the performance of the imaging study.
Ensures operation of Radiology equipment by performing quality checks following manufacturer's recommendations and trouble-shooting equipment as required, calling in repairs when necessary.
Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Wears personal monitoring device on collar and outside of apron consistently and submits it promptly and regularly for assessment of occupational dosage. Reports any loss, damage, or unusual events associated with personal monitoring device immediately to the Radiation Safety Office.
Participates in the modality specific QA/QC program and Ensures compliance with regulations.
Able to perform high quality radiology procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner.
Able to explain the procedure and put patients at ease.
Able to provide services in a timely, accurate, and cost-efficient manner in compliance with established System and regulatory standards, policies and procedures.
Able to perform tasks independently without need for routine oversight.
Able to maintain a calm and helpful attitude, even under times of stress, and take appropriate and reasonable steps to resolve issues.
Able to effectively administer first aid and use emergency cart.
Able to ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times, providing courteous service, remaining professional, reviewing patient satisfaction scores and developing action plans when required.
Demonstrates and maintains current knowledge, continued education and skills appropriate care for the following age groups (specific to department): newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult and geriatric.
Able to serve as preceptor by providing quality training to new team members and on new services and initiatives.
May also perform: EKG, Phlebotomy, and other clinical services as needed.

The Radiological Technologist I performs entry-level-to-routine (journey-level) radiological work. Work involves performing a variety of diagnostic x-ray procedures to obtain and record interpretable diagnostic information for medical staff. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Operates radiological equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Coordinates with nursing and medical staff to ensure that appropriate preparatory procedures are performed. Reviews developed x-rays, ultrasounds, or computer-generated information to determine whether images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes. Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with policies and regulations, and to ensure the safety of patients and staff. Records patient data and treatment records and assists in the preparation of reports. Schedules patients for routine studies. Assists in performing specialized radiographic procedures. Assists in reviewing stock levels of needed supplies and equipment. Assists patients to and from treatment areas and positions patients for scans, x-rays, and other diagnostic procedures. May clean, repair, maintain, and make minor adjustments to instruments and equipment. Performs related work as assigned.

Essential Job Functions (EJFs):
Attends work on a regular basis and may be asked to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
Performs x-ray diagnostic routine exams/procedures and operates GE RFX radiological equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes as ordered by facility providers. Operates the Carestream Computed Radiography Cassette Readers to process x-rays and determine whether images are of diagnostic quality. Utilizes the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) applications Viztek & OnePacs to transmit studies for interpretation by radiologist.
Utilizes the electronic medical record Practice Partner to coordinate with nursing, medical staff, and clinic staff to ensure that appropriate preparatory procedures are performed. Greets patients, assists with gathering pertinent information needed for the medical appointment. Assists with transporting patients to and from ancillary departments within the clinic. Keeps x-ray & ultrasound exam rooms clean, organized and stocked with appropriate supplies. Schedules and prepares patients for x-ray & ultrasound appointments. Performs administrative procedures to include phone calls, logs, appointments, and other clerical duties. Charting, maintaining equipment, assisting with patient care, and maintaining the overall environment.
Performs High Level Disinfection procedures for the endocavity transducer in compliance with Joint Commission standards.
Performs other duties as assigned. Valid CPR certification.
Initial Screening Criteria:
Six months of experience in radiological technology work required.

The Radiology Technologist will be responsible for taking x-rays as directed by the provider on duty. This position also requires cross training for other back office clinical / MA related duties. Location: 3210 Midwestern Parkway #500, Wichita Falls, TX, 76308 Hours: Monday - Saturday: 7:30am - 8:00pm and Sundays 11:30am - 8:00pm
Full-time is 3 shifts per week, PRN is minimum 2 shifts per month -- schedules made 4-6 weeks in advance
Shifts are made by area managers who work with our scheduler to ensure clinics have coverage
With advance notice, able to consult w/ manager to request a day off if needed (ie Work a Tuesday shift vs Monday due to an appointment)
Regarding full-time:
Must be available to work rotating weekends (can include Saturday and Sunday)
1 on-call shift per month - must answer a call within 30 mins between hours of 6:00am-3:00pm that day
