Provide diagnostic imaging services according to accepted standards and protocols and assure patient safety during procedures Responsibilities General Diagnostic Procedures: Performs all diagnostic procedures following policies and procedures established by the department and proper protocol. Maintains a clean and orderly environment and associated checklist. Special Diagnostic Testing: Demonstrates competency in performing all procedures and use of the equipment for CAT Scans as assigned. Initiates a peripheral IV for patients requiring designated diagnostic testing within the radiology dept in accordance with Hospital policy and as assigned after completion of education and competence demonstration. Reviews and follows the CT protocol assigned by the Radiologist. Keep dose as low as possible to achieve a diagnostic exam. Use the appropriate protocols for adults and pediatric. Administrative: Uses computer to access reports. Follows protocols for releasing of images. Assists with administrative responsibilities of the department to include scheduling appointments, answering the phone, etc. Performs all quality controls procedures daily as assigned and maintains appropriate logs. Technologists perform a wide variety of exams from Cardiac CT to 3D Interventional Procedures. As the only Trauma One center in the state of NH, we perform many high acuity CT exams. In addition, we have a Stroke team, and technologists perform CT exams following strict protocol. We also have a dedicated 3D Lab and 2 CTIR Suites, giving CT technologists the opportunity to subspecialize within the CT section. Our CT staff perform at the highest potential of their license. The CT Technologist performs computerized axial tomography procedures and maintains equipment and supplies. We have a strong dedicated team of technologists providing both high quality and high acuity patient care. This is a Part Time, 20hr per week, benefitted position. Flexible schedule Monday - Friday 8am - 630pm. Dartmouth is the best where it matters most! Reviews data on scanner and in PACS. Performs multi-plane reconstruction, reformats and 3D according to protocol. Reviews studies for overall quality. Identifies and highlights any unexpected findings not included in the initial exam request and promptly notifies the radiologist. Organizes daily work schedule and responds to emergencies as they occur. Performs daily calibration check on equipment; cleans and performs minor maintenance procedures. Logs problems and usage; alerts Team Leader as appropriate. Orders and maintains supplies. Instructs medical staff and technologists in unit's operations, as necessary. Participates in continuing education. Trains with IV team prior to performing venous punctures. Performs other duties as required or assigned Qualifications Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology with 1 year of experience preferred. Required Licensure/Certifications Registered with the ARRT Radiologic Technologist - Radiography (RT - R) .
