Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist performs advanced imaging procedures using radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images that aid physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. Essential Work Functions:
Educate patients about imaging procedures and answer questions if they arise
Prepare and operate advanced radiologic equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images according to physician orders

Evaluate images for quality, present images and preliminary findings to physicians and health care team

Responsibilities:
Ability to fulfill all responsibilities of Nurse/Clinical Tech and Patient Care Specialist position as detailed in the specific Nurse/Clinical Tech and Patient Care Specialist job description.
The ability to deliver clinical and administrative support for the team and adhere to all policies and procedures of the company.
Monitor and track x-ray orders so they can be completed and submitted in a timelymanner.
Assist patient with proper positioning during the exam to ensure diagnostic quality.
Ensure that their activities are conducted in a manner that is consistent with overall department expectations and comply with federal and state regulations, guidelines, and requirements including working knowledge of all health information management issues such as HIPAA.
Review exam images for initial read by provider.
Send final images to Radiology group for over read.
Responsible to correctly label laterality of all images by the use of initialed leadmarker.
Confirm that no removable artifacts are in the anatomy requested, and ensure the proper technique (“S” number) is used appropriate for the exam. Any artifacts appearing in the anatomy of interest must have a solid explanation (direct refusal or inability by patient to remove) noted in the history.
Ability to address minor maintenance issues with the machines, and to follow up with nurse coordinator (or Clinic Director in their absence) for consultation prior to any outsourcing calls.
Monitor the condition of the cassettes and other equipment in the x-ray room for signs of wear or malfunction and submit problems found as soon as possible to the Imaging Director so the issues can be rectified. Cassettes, chest bucky, and exam table are to be cleaned after each use to avoid cross contamination
Maintains and distributes pregnancy waiver forms where applicable.
Triage patients by checking and recording vitals, collect and record pertinent clinical history and all other information deemed necessary for proper charting in the EMS. Performblood draws, give injections, administer oral medications and perform other basic nursing tasks when not directly in the course of a radio graphical exam if applicable in your state.
Monitors and reads X-Ray badge monthly.
Radiation Monitors must be worn at all times when in the X-Ray room and maintain reporting as required.
Responsible for learning the aspects of compliance in the company by completing all mandatory compliance training.
Welcome new employees on their first day in the clinic and facilitate introductions to team members, clinic tours, and an overview of the clinic processes.
Actively assist new employees with learning activities and completing required training.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

Consistently and correctly place patient's identification on images using at least two patient identifiers in accordance with the National Patient Safety Standards; properly processing imaging and labeling them with the correct study descriptions. Also labeling the images with the correct lead makers on a consistent basis.
Prepares and maintains appropriate records as required. Verify cases in PACS (Picture Archiving Communication System) and complete cases in the RIS (Radiology information system) on a timely basis. Participate in any and all projects pertaining to the maintenance and/or correction of the radiology data bases.
Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation. Display the ability to recognize patients pain and provide comfort when possible. Display superior customer service skills and participate in the distribution and collection of customer service surveys.
Able to moves x-ray equipment into specified positions and locations. Knowledgeable in the adjustment of equipment settings in relations to KVP, MA, time and distance.
Practices radiation safety and protection by utilizing the proper techniques in collimation, shielding and ensuring patients, co-workers and family are at the desired distance prior to emitting ionizing radiation.
Competently operates fixed and mobile x-ray equipment across many settings- operating room, emergency room, or at patient's bedside. Participate in all areas of General Imaging not limited to Surgery, Out Patient Clinic, Emergency Room, Inpatient area, Portables, Schwab and Urodynamics.
Demonstrates radiologic techniques for age-specific patients needs including procedures for port chest, skull, spine, abdomen, extremity, pelvis, and O.R. procedures with C-arm.
Consistently and competently demonstrates knowledge and ability in use of departmental equipment not limited to the CR/DR general diagnostic rooms, digital/analog portable x-ray machines, C-Arms, fluoroscopy, patient moving equipment, CR Readers and, Disc Makers.
Demonstrates ability to address proper safety procedures including shielding from radiation, equipment safety, and patient safety. Knowledgeable of all Emergency Code and perform well in all Mock Training scenarios. Certified in CPR and obtained certification in a timely manner.

Performs other duties as assigned. Work overtime when needed. Display leadership and teamwork throughout the department and hospital. Provide support in all quality improvement initiatives by submitting ideas and suggestions. Perform properly in the completion of shift change reports and also in the area of supply ordering and the restocking.

What you will do :

Check supplies/stocks room and maintains general cleanliness in department
Assists in printing films and retrieval of reports

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Position patients and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of a specified area and/or body part by using ionizing radiation. Also assists physician during fluoroscopy exams.
Demonstrates knowledge of the operation of all Radiology machinery, not limited to C-arms, portable and stationary x-ray machines, and panorex machine to produce radiographic images in DR,CR and fluoroscopic modes
Consistently and correctly place patient's identification on images using at least two patient identifiers in accordance with the National Patient Safety Standards; properly processing imaging and labeling them with the correct study descriptions. Also labeling the images with the correct lead makers on a consistent basis.
Prepares and maintains appropriate records as required. Verify cases in PACS (Picture Archiving Communication System) and complete cases in the RIS (Radiology information system) on a timely basis. Responsible for performing routine, and advanced CT applications using GE and Siemens equipment. Individual must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Associated duties include transporting, administering contrast agents and occasionally performing general radiography at our off-site facility in Yorkville. Patient populations are predominantly emergency room and in-patient STAT exams.
