EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
* Under direction, incumbents may instruct and prepare patients for radiologic examinations;
* Determine the most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shield patients appropriately;
* Prepare patients for radiologic examinations by explaining the procedure, removing articles such as jewelry, through which x-rays cannot pass
* Positioning patients so that the correct parts of the body can be radiographed.
* Place the x-ray film under the part of the patient's body to be examined and make the exposure. Then remove the film and develop it.
* Position and operate stationary or portable radiologic machines and take x-rays images of all parts of the human body for the physician to use in the diagnosis of disease or injury.
* Produce x-ray films (radiographs), develop, make copies and fix x-ray films of parts of the human body for use in diagnosing medical problems.
* Prepare solutions for processing films;
* Assist in fluoroscopic work; under supervision, make clinical photographs of unusual cases and identify photographs;
* Maintain equipment and quarters;
* Monitors patients during the procedure.
* Surround the exposed area with radiation protection devices, such as lead shields, or limit the size of the x-ray beam to prevent unnecessary radiation exposure.
* Using instruments similar to a measuring tape, measure the thickness of the section to be radiographed and set controls on the machine to produce radiographs of the appropriate density, detail and contrast.
* Keep records and files;

The Staff Radiology Technologist works in unity with all SHC staff to fulfill our mission to create the best possible experience for the patients by providing quality care and efficiency in a Christ centered environment. Note: This is a part-time position 20 hours per week and a temporary role with a duration of approximately 1 to 6 months.
What you'll do in this position:
Find patient chart on computer, determine what type of x-ray was ordered, history of patient injury and by what physician the exam was ordered, 2-3 minutes.
Retrieve patient from waiting area introduce yourself explain what clothing needs to be removed and give radiographic clothing to patient to put on 2 minutes.
Explain the exam to patient and place the patient in position for exam ordered by physician with explanations of positions that the patient will be required to stay in while x-ray is taken, 5 to 15 minutes depending on exam for multiple exams more time will be required.
Process films/ cassettes critique radiographs for Quality control measures between 3-5 depending on exams
Have patient change back into street clothes.
Return patient to waiting area or ask them to return to the clinician's office if requested by the clinician.

This position does not require you to be in the operating room or perform most fluoroscopic exams. This position performs mostly static diagnostic X-rays. Location: Travel to all current and future clinics currently located in Salt Lake, Riverton, Layton, and Provo.
Responsibilities
Radiologic Technologist Job Duties: Performs X-rays in a timely manner with minimal exposure. Assists with positioning and transferring of patients. Inputs orders as well as checking patients in and out through iCentra and EPIC . Use of the EOS machine as well as a mini C arm within the clinic. Orders supplies and maintains inventory counts. Performs radiographic procedures, and critiques radiographs and images to maintain a quality control program. Selects film, adjusts and programs a variety of film changes, includingcinefluorography, and may develop films. Coordinates the activities for the technical services in the operating room and the portable x-ray area. Maintains the necessary precautions for excessive exposure to radiation and electric shock. Assesses patient vital signs and condition when indicated during exams.Reports equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel. May assist in orienting new employees or students regarding workflow and procedures of the department. Prepares, cleans and stocks rooms with supplies and linens. May participate on department and hospital committees and provide in-service training to hospital staff. Radiologic Technologist Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Demonstrated potential ability to perform the essential functions as outlined above. Ability to provide care to the population served. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills. Ability to select proper cassette size, and exposure factors and correct any exposure and imaging problems. Ability to prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the needs of the physicians.
Minimum Qualifications
Radiologic Technologist Qualifications: Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system or a commitment to obtain it within 30 days of hire. Current license to practice as a Radiologic Practical Technologist in the State of Utah. ARRT Registration as a Radiologic Technician R.T. ( R) ( ARRT ).

JOB TITLE: Radiology Technologist Eligible for a $5,000 bonus!! ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Performs radiologic exams in the operating room that produce quality images and ensures patient and staff safety. Follows proper protocols, correct patient positioning, appropriate and effective use of equipment, and adherence to radiation protection and guidelines.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
* Under direction of surgeon, radiographs patients in an OR setting. Knowledge of sterile procedures and areas.
* Maintain equipment.
* Surround the exposed area with radiation protection devices, such as lead shields, or limit the size of the x-ray beam to prevent unnecessary radiation exposure.
* Using instruments set controls on the machine to produce radiographs of the appropriate density, detail and contrast.
* Keep records and files;
* Make reports as needed and other related duties.
* Maintain all lead aprons, shields, dosimetry badges etc. according to State standards.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUIRED:
* Knowledge of Large C-arms; regional and gross anatomy of the human body; standardized radiologic clinical procedures; thorough knowledge of the hazards of radiologic materials and the safety precautions required; the operation and care of modern radiologic equipment; and the ordering and storing of supplies.
* Knowledge of proper sterile techniques, areas, etc. in the Operating Room.
* Ability to communicate effectively at a level required for successful job performance; keep simple records, follow directions; analyze situations accurately and take effective action; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others
EDUCATION: (include any licenses or certifications required)
* ARRT registration.
* Possession of a current valid Radiologic Technologist license (Utah) in diagnostic radiologic technology.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
* Knowledge of email systems such as Microsoft Outlook sufficient to communicate with both internal and external contact
OTHER:
* Ability to work individually or as part of a team with good communication skills.
