Job Summary and Qualifications The Radiology Technologist operates standard, portable, and specialized X-ray equipment to perform routine and semi-complex radiographic examinations used by physicians for diagnosis and treatment. What qualifications you will need: Must be a graduate of an AMA accredited program with a certificate or degree in Radiographic Technology. Should adhere to ARRT guidelines of obtaining 24 continuing education credits bi-annually. Technologist is responsible for production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures, observing radiographic results and making necessary adjustments while maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Technologist will acquire images by properly preparing patient for radiological procedure, positioning patient and manipulating equipment into specified position. Technologist will follow the ALARA principles to set exposure factors necessary to obtain quality images. Technologist will protect patients and employees by adhering to radiation safety, infection-control policies and protocols and HIPAA compliance policies. Technologist will maintain professional and technical knowledge in compliance the ARRT continuing education standards.
