Principal Accountabilities Performs CT scans on patients: Prepares patients for CT scan, explains procedure, administers contrast when necessary, positions patients for the CT scan, selects appropriate imaging techniques, and ensures technical quality of the scan. Enters and monitors patient data. Performs quality assurance on CT equipment. May assist with initial and renewal application for ACR and other accreditation. Takes emergency call within the department. May be required to work weekends and float to other locations as needed. Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors. Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to establish inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies. Identifies opportunities for corrective action and process improvement providing recommendations and contributes to meeting department and hospital targets for quality and safety.
