Work to supervise Radiology students and new hires as needed. 20. Operates IR equipment to produce accurate images while maintaining sterile technique. Assembles sterile trays and assumes scrub duties as necessary. Accurately documents procedure performed. Verify correct orders and relevant history in the patients chart. 21. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures by selecting the correct exposure factors utilizing the assessment of patient age, pathology and diagnosis to produce technically accurate digital images to assist the radiologist in diagnosing. Work with students. 22. Accurately inputs procedural information into electronic medical record, RIS and PACS to capture necessary information regarding exams, supply charges, resource allocations, radiation exposure as well as all relevant clinical information. 23. Obtains all relevant patient information, including but not limited to, current lab values, medication usage, ensuring reason for exam is concordant with exam request in order to perform the appropriate exam, on the correct patient, to procure an accurate diagnosis. 24. Explain procedures to patients and addresses their concerns. Utilizes ALARA principals and appropriate infection control techniques to ensure a safe work environment. 25. Appropriately maintains exam rooms, supplies and equipment according to performance standards. Maintains area supplies and reports equipment malfunctions. Performs and documents quality assurance testing on equipment according to established protocols to maintain high performance of the system. Transports patients as necessary. Qualifications Guidelines: Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate AMA approved radiology program. Registered with American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) CT state license. CPR certification may be required. Maintenance of continuing education credits as required by licensure.
