City: Syracuse State: NY Start Date: 2025-11-24 End Date: 2026-02-21 Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 8 Hours Day shift Description: Preferred Qualifications: AAS in Radiologic Technology or equivalent NYS license/registration or eligible and ARRT must obtain within one year of appointment minimum of five years progressive technical experience plus current CPR certification required. Registration certification for Contrast Injection required. Duties: The radiologic technologist is responsible for performing radiographic examinations under the direction of departmental radiologists. The technologist will greet the patient explain to them the examination they are about to undergo position the patient set the proper exposure factors in order to obtain the required quality radiograph. The technologist will also practice appropriate radiation safety and protection to assure that patients do not undergo undue radiation exposure. Technologist will also have a sufficient knowledge base to operate imaging equipment efficiently and effectively in order to obtain quality studies and to report any malfunctions with equipment to immediate supervisor. They will also be responsible for processing films inputting information into the Radiology Information System for documentation and billing purposes. This position will also be responsible for the proper use of imaging equipment and following department procedures and protocol as defined in the Policy and Procedure Manual. This position is mainly responsible for providing radiologic examinations based on referring physician and radiologist needs. Notes: Radiologic Technologist - Interventional Will be required to work weekends and holidays on a rotational basis. Overtime may be required based on departmental needs. [DRT assignments that include performance of independent duties in this subspecialty require advanced ARRT certification.] + Experience in procedures such as IVP, GI series, Modified Barium Swallow, barium and air contrasted barium enema exams. + Experience with sterile supplies, local anesthetics, contrast materials, catheters, and other required equipment are presented properly for the attending radiologist(s). + Experience with interoperative portable and portable c-arm cases. + Experience with portable c-arm cases in Pain Management. + Experience on 128 slice, 64 Slice Light Speed Computed Tomography Scanners. + Experience in Cardiac CT exams with retro and prospective gating, Interventional/CT Procedures with CT Fluoro such as Lung biopsy, RFA's, Cryo-Ablations and Microwave ablations. + Experience with general x-ray and be responsible for performing a full range of CT exams. This will consist of both contrasted and non-contrasted exams in both areas, and tracking of reportable CT doses. + Experience and knowledge of Intravenous Contrast Agents used in Radiology and Hydration Procedures. + Knowledge of digital imaging and PACS. **The number of cases expected per day:** 20-40 **The exam listings are as follows:** 1. The technologist will greet the patient, explain to them the examination they are about to undergo, position the patient, set the proper exposure factors in order to obtain the required quality radiograph. The technologist will also practice appropriate radiation safety and protection to assure that patients do not undergo undue radiation exposure. Technologist will also have a sufficient knowledge base to operate imaging equipment efficiently and effectively in order to obtain quality studies and to report any malfunctions with equipment to immediate supervisor. They will also be responsible for processing films, inputting information into the Radiology Information System for documentation and billing purposes. This position will also be responsible for the proper use of imaging equipment and following department procedures and protocol as defined in the Policy and Procedure Manual.
