Mammography Department: Part-time/Boston location (Week 1 & 3 - Mon, Tues 7a-530p, Week 2 & 4 - Mon, Tues 7a-530p, every other Saturday 7a-330p) Nuclear Medicine Department: Part-time/Boston location (Monday through Friday. 11:30am - 5:00pm) Imaging/ultrasound department: Full-time/ Danvers location (Mon-Fri 8:00-4:30) X-ray department: Full-time/ Boston location (Monday through Friday nights 11:30pm - 8:00/ evenings 3:30 pm to 12:00 am)
Main responsibilities:

Assisting the technologists as instructed during routine procedures such as lifting, transporting, and directing patients in and out of the imaging suite. Assisting with scheduling Imaging exams and answering phone calls. Provide safe and compassionate care to patients of all ages performing day-to-day operations to assist technologists and patient service coordinators. Assisting with lab specimen and patient transport Maintaining testing area in an orderly manner preparing imaging/procedure rooms prior to patient use.

Description

The Rad Tech Assistant reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:

* Provides support to the clinical staff.
* Assists with exam flow: stocks rooms, turns over rooms between patients, rooms patient, assists with patient transfer / lifts as necessary, supports safe patient care environment.
* Assists with paperwork as assigned.
* Responds professionally when interacting with patients, public and department/hospital staff.
* Maintains a professional appearance and attitude.
* Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.

Qualifications

Required:

* High School Diploma or equivalent
* BLS Certification within 30 days of hire

We're looking for someone to join our team as a Radiologic Technologist (Outpatient) who:

Operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of body as ordered by physicians. Positions and instructs patients prior to examination, adjusts the x-ray equipment and determines proper voltage as well as current and desired exposure time for each radiograph.

Essential Functions:

* Performs screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation. Explains procedures to patients and answers questions. Prepares equipment for use as needed. Prepares examination rooms for patient exams. Positions patients for imaging exams. Monitors patients and ensures safety during exams.
* Produces diagnostic images. Documents exam information. Reports important information to the physician.
* Verifies exams on PACS.
* Administers targeted doses of radiation to the patient's body to treat cancer or other diseases. Administers trace amounts of radiopharmaceuticals to a patient to obtain functional information about organs, tissues and bone. Measures bone mineral density.
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
