Job Summary for MRI Technologist: The MRI technologist performs a variety of MRI scanning sequences and imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed radio frequency pulsed sequences of MRI diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. The services should be provided with attention to detail and friendly guest services. Operate MRI imaging equipment and assist physicians and radiologists as appropriate to comply with regulatory agencies and established policy, procedure, and protocol. Calculate and select proper pulse sequence factors such as TR, TE, FOV, flip angles, matrix, slice direction, slice position, slice thickness, gap, and other technical factors based on patient age, physical condition, patient ability to hold still, suspected pathology, etc. to apply to imaging sequence and procedure. Adhere to established company procedure protocols.
