Under the general supervision of a licensed care provider and/or management, the Clinical Medical Assistant I (CMA I)/ Patient Access Representative II (PAR II) is responsible to function as both a CMA I and a PAR II. Per standardized clinical protocols, independently provides and documents clinical care and associated tasks as assigned. This position utilizes appropriate age and developmental approaches in application of care, and regularly performs a supportive role to physicians, nurses, and families in the delivery of patient care. The staff member is responsible for securing and providing appropriate medical business information to/from patient families and funding sources. The staff member interprets, identifies, and documents this information by way of registration, scheduling, and/or obtaining authorizations for outpatient and/or diagnostic services. This position collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal care is provided in a quality environment to patients and families. Administrative duties will be performed as assigned.

Completion of a Medical Assistant program/certificate
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records ( EMR) system
Advanced knowledge of medical terminology
Bilingual English/Spanish

Is an expert in the use of various templates and documentation techniques available in the EHR system and uses these tools efficiently so individual encounters can be well documented, as well as accurately congregate data collected for statistical reporting.
Transcribes any consultations or discussions with family members and/or the clinician.
Completes the patient's chart by transcribing results of any labs, x-rays, or other evaluations. In doing so, the scribe continuously checks on the progress of this data to get the patient's workup complete so that the clinician is able to make his or her decisions regarding that patient.
Orders in-house testing, Immunizations, lab testing, diagnostic testing along with generating referrals.
Lists all proper diagnoses as well as any follow up instructions and prescriptions, as dictated by the clinician.

. The On-Call Medical Assistant (MA) is a key member of the Clinic Care Team and as such, performs clinical and administrative tasks consistent with HealthRIGHT 360 policies and protocols. Duties include preparing treatment rooms, assisting physicians with examination materials, instruments and equipment, maintaining supply inventories, and performing laboratory tests including phlebotomy and providing case management follow-up with patients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Medical Responsibilities:
* Assist clinicians in the examination process. Perform office tests including vision screening, spirometry, EKG, rapid strep, UA and urine pregnancy tests.
* Perform phlebotomy, injections, TB tests, breathing treatments.
Preparation Responsibilities:
* Perform intake, including vital signs, list chief complaints, allergies, immunization histories and complete chart forms, as appropriate to patient type.
* Place patients in rooms and prepare them for examination.
* Clean, prepare and stock examination rooms.
Coordination Responsibilities:
* Active participation in integrated team-based care which may include receiving and returning telephone calls from patients and pharmacies.
* Assist in scheduling patient appointments.
* Monitor and ensure quality assurance of basic clinic functions.

* Documents all procedures performed by the provider or clinical staff in the EHR.
* Uses templates and work-flow documentation tools effectively to ensure that encounters are completely documented as well as enabling the collection of data for statistical reports.
* Transcribes the consultations and discussions between family members and the provider.
* Enters the results of labs, x-rays, or other evaluations into the EHR.
* Monitors the progress to completion of the patient's work-up data to support the provider's decisions regarding the treatment plan.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 to $34.00 per hour. However, the final base salary will be determined upon a number of individualized factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education and certification levels, and departmental budget. We also consider internal equity with our current employees when making final offers.

Under the direct supervision of a licensed care practitioner, the Patient Care Assistant II provides and documents clinical care and associated tasks as assigned. Applies appropriate age and developmental approach in application of care. Regularly performs a supportive role to physicians nurses and families in the delivery of patient care by assisting patient care delivery team with emergency calls and clinical communications and performing admission discharge and transfer workflows. Responds to emergency codes by performing appropriate protocols and identifying, initiating and using vital resources. Prepares and maintains patient medical record on the clinical unit including the medical record discharge process. Enters compiles and reviews reports in a timely and accurate manner. Performs administrative duties as assigned.
