There are no pros. They take advantage of there employees.
There are no perks.
To many hours. Wanting to write everyone up for stupid stuff.
Nothing.
Cleaning management out and put people in there that want to work and treat people the way they should be treated.
They don't pay enough. The CEO'S and VP'S are the only ones making any money. The driver's line the management pockets.
Nothing.
There not to many pros to working for railcrew xpress. The only one is the flexible hours.
I'm going to put it simple. The management in Kansas City is terrible. We had a borrow out and she was from San Antonio, her boyfriend got shot. The management in Kansas City would not help her get home. The manager and the regional manger got together. They got her a airplane ticket home. A couple of us talked to her this last week, She never heard from the upper management.
Flexible hours
Nothing. they do nothing for the people, but they love to harass you about the mistakes you make.
Get rid of Brian O'Hara and Andrew Beck.
Didn't have to
Compensation in this the wages are way to low
If they had better wages. They would get better drivers. Pay the drivers that work for you and they will stay. In the last month the hire approximately 10 only 2 are still here the rest quit.
nothing
The pros of working at Railcrew Xpress is you get to see different areas with the Borrow Out program, with this program is how I transferred from Texas to Iowa and moved up into Management. I couldn't work for better organization!
The are not many cons that I have found. If you are driver it's waiting for a call, but we can't control when the RR places a trip.
Honestly, the best benefit and love is the fact that even though we are such a large company all employees are not just a number or something that helps the bottom line. We are a name and one huge family. I have been with the company almost 3 years! I am with Railcrew Xpress till the end!
Brain is an compassionate and caring person, but will hold you to the standards of doing your position as a driver or management high so that we all as a whole company and family are successful. Brian is always just an email or phone call away when you need him and is very active not like most CEO's that just sit in an office, he will get out in the field with the rest of us to help when in need.
There's not much to change. I don't know many company's that have the flexibility that we offer.
I filled out an application on indeed in 2021, I phone interviewed with the Regional Manager and went in person to the Location manager and gave my resume and expressed my enjoyment on how I love to travel and how my years of experience as a former OTR truck driver could be very beneficial to Railcrew Xpress.
I feel that the compensation I receive is about average for the industry that I work in. Sure everyone would love more money, however in the transportation industry, there is a major overhead, with the cost of fleet escrow for repairs, vehicles, fuel and insurance. If you was to pay everyone what they wanted the company would go belly up.
The diverse demographics here are perfect.
The best part of my position is that I get to service our Clients needs and interact with all of my employees on a daily basis and rewarding those for doing an outstanding job.
meeting other people, seeing new places
low pay, horrid management, bad old vans, always on call, call you even on your days off, long hours when part time. They want you at the drop of a hat, and expect you to run to them 24/7
meeting the crew you take places. Very polite and friendly. Some of the drivers are cool, but a lot are snotty.
