The CT Technologist II under direction of a qualified physician, radiologist, Diagnostic Imaging Director or Special Imaging Coordinator, performs diagnostic CT procedures by producing, assessing, and evaluating images and related data that are used by physicians to render medical diagnosis of disease and injuries.

Recognize exam results that may require immediate clinical response and notify the interpreting Physician or other appropriate physician of CT findings.
Select and operate appropriate CT equipment to achieve the objective of the examination.
Operate PACS and RIS systems.
Perform clerical duties, filing, scheduling, and reception as needed.
Contributes to on-going Quality Assurance Program.
Orders supplies for CT department.
Takes emergency call as assigned.
Participates in appropriate hospital committees as assigned and attends regular staff meetings.
Must maintain CME's to maintain active status with A.R.R.T. and CT certification.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: High School education and 24-month program or equivalent in radiological health science approved by the American Medical Association.
Experience: One (1) year prior CT work experience preferred.
License(s): Alaska Fluoroscopy Users certification must be obtained within one month of hire.

The Histology Technologist I is an entry level, non-certified position which allows the incumbent to begin working in the Bartlett Laboratory under direct supervision. Day to day assignments are routine and are of an assistive nature; provides technical assistance and support to the pathologists, lab manager, and Senior Histology Technologist. The Senior Histology Technologist and Histology Technologist II provide training and oversee the daily work product of the non-certified position. The intent of this position is that they move up to the journey level Histology Technologist II position once certification is achieved or the incumbent has the requisite education, experience, and certification.
Under general supervision, the Histology Technologist lI, processes histologic and cytological specimens to assure timely and high quality preparation of blocks and slides.
Under direct/indirect or general supervision, primary duties include: accession and grossing assistant; processing, embedding, microtomy, staining for H&E and special stains, cover slipping and labeling of tissue specimens arriving in the department through surgery or outside offices; retrieving specimens for re-gross; retrieving slides for pathologists and administrative support staff for send-outs; maintaining and filing finished slides; daily cleaning of processor, H&E stainer, cover slipping hood, grossing station, and overall lab; providing assistance to other departments on requisitions; filling supply requests from in house and outside offices; keeping lead HT informed of current supply levels and needs to maintain proper stock quotas; assisting in frozen suite by cutting specimens and staining slides for immediate diagnosis; assisting in radiology with FNA's and as needed with bone marrows.

Histology Technologist II:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Science or related field & Completion of a Certified Histology Program.
* At this level, incumbents begin on the job training and obtain Histology work experience under direct supervision of the Senior Histology Technologist or a Certified Histology Technologist II. They then flex (move up without recruitment) once they achieve their certification.

This level is part of a Career Ladder. Incumbents must advance from Pharmacy Technician I to Pharmacy Technician II. Advancement to the Pharmacy Technician II position is a condition of continued employment.
Pharmacy Technician II:
Under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician II performs journey technical tasks such as aseptic I.V. preparation, proper storage, distribution, packaging, and labeling of medications, associated record keeping; and monitor and reconcile hospital vaccine use and hospital medication usage reports.
Positions may also provide assistance to the Senior Pharmacy Technician to carry out the day to day operations.
This level is distinguished from the Pharmacy Technician I in that it requires a Pharmacy Technician Certification and on the job experience to qualify for entry to this level.
