Duties and Responsibilities:
As a BPA, you will be part of our 60,000+ workforce that strives to protect the American people by safeguarding our borders, deterring illicit activity, and enhancing the nation's economic prosperity. Being a BPA makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) profession.
Typical assignments include:
· Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
· Preventing and apprehending aliens and smugglers of aliens at or near the borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions to include using infrared scopes during night operations.
· Interpreting and following tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry of persons or contraband.
· Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks.
· Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using a variety of government assets such as vehicles, horses, vessels, watercraft, off-road vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, and motorcycles for the accomplishment of the USBP Mission.
Qualifications:
GL-9: You qualify for the GL-9 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
· Performing physical searches of detained individuals, their vehicles, and their immediate surroundings for weapons, contraband, currency, and other evidence.
· Apprehending, physically restraining, or working with law enforcement officials to identify or apprehend violators of state, federal, or immigration laws.
· Proficient in the use of firearms, preparing investigative reports, serving court orders (e.g., warrants, subpoenas, etc.), and gathering evidence for criminal cases prosecuted through the court system.
If you have previous or current law enforcement or military law enforcement experience, you may qualify at the GS-11 grade level.
GS-11: You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, with the authority granted by the state or government to enforce laws, make arrests, and investigate crimes, performing primary duties in an official law enforcement capacity such as:
· Utilizing intelligence information to track illegal operations, criminal activity, threats to our nation, and/or contraband while serving as a state, federal, or military law enforcement official.
· Leading investigations of fraud, contraband, criminal activity, threats to our nation, and/or illegal operations to determine sources and patterns while serving as a state, federal, or military law enforcement official.
· Apprehending violators of state, federal, or immigration laws by utilizing various forms of complex technology that include surveillance, detection, situation awareness systems, and/or communications equipment.
The above experience will be applied in connection with the following: Make arrests and exercise sound judgment in the use of firearms; deal effectively with people in a courteous manner in connection with law enforcement matters; analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions; or develop and maintain contact with a network of informants.
There are no education substitutions for the GL-9 or GS-11 grade-level Border Patrol Agent opportunities.

Citizenship: You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this position.
Residency: You must have had primary U.S. residency (including protectorates as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years.
Age Restriction: In accordance with Public Law 100-238, this position is covered under law enforcement retirement provisions. We are seeking an Data Center Repair Technician (Breakfix) to join our data center operations team. This role is focused on the physical repair and maintenance of data center hardware, including servers, switches, routers, and related components. Execute basic physical layer troubleshooting, including cable and port testing, to ensure connectivity and performance standards.
Support the implementation of new hardware installations and the physical setup of network and server infrastructure.
Participate in emergency response teams to address urgent hardware issues
4 Rotational shifts, for 24/7/365 service (8 to 10 hr. shifts; 3 to 4 days per week; 2 to 3 days off)
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Technical diploma or certification in electronics, computer hardware, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Proven track record of repairing and maintaining IT and network hardware in a data center environment.
Familiarity with hardware from Cisco, Juniper, Arista, and x86 servers is highly preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the capacity to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver's license and ability to handle physical requirements of the job including lifting equipment up to 50 pounds.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment, up to approximately 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
Dexterity to manage small and complex components during hardware maintenance.

* Experience operating equipment safely and productively in and around active highway traffic under Maintenance of Traffic conditions and live traffic on a highway construction project is preferred.
* General housekeeping, light maintenance of equipment, proper care of equipment, operating the equipment without damaging it along with maintenance checks of equipment including reporting usage/utilization hours on a daily basis.
* Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning loads in response to hand or audio signals from other crew members.
Required Experience:
At least 2 years' of experience laying pipe in Highway Construction is required.
Required Skills:
* Strength and Endurance: Pipe Layer positions are physically demanding, and a high level of physical fitness is required.
* Communication: Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills are necessary as proper completion of an assigned job and working safe will be highly dependent upon this ability.

Description
Responsible for rail car inspection and maintenance in accordance with FRA and AAR Regulations. Must re-rail cars and provide estimate damages at derailment sites, make out billing repair cards in compliance with AAR office manual, identify AAR/FRA violations when present on railcars. This is accomplished by performing all or any combination of the following duties: Must insure that all company guidelines are met, and that all safety rules are followed when performing duties. In addition, must be able to read and understand blueprints, make car repairs in compliance with FRA & AAR rules and keep good repair records. Should be able to perform foreign car repairs, as well as fleet car repairs. Must operate fork lift and work closely with other departments at derailment sites. May be asked to perform other duties as requested or required.

Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
1. GS-7: You must have completed or will complete a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's from an accredited institution AND must have documented Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) at the undergraduate level in the following:
a) Grade Point Average 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript or as computed based on 4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of curriculum; OR 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in your major field or the required courses in your major field completed during the final 2 years of your curriculum.
2. GS-9: You must have completed 2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree:
a) Grade Point Average - 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript or as computed based on 4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of curriculum; OR 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in your major field or the required courses in your major field completed during the final 2 years of your curriculum. If more than 10 percent of total undergraduate credit hours are non-graded, i.e. pass/fail, CLEP, CCAF, DANTES, military credit, etc. you cannot qualify based on GPA.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Professional knowledge of environmental physical science principles, practices, techniques, and procedures to carry out tasks and provide support using established procedures and methods in assigned.
2. Knowledge to perform a variety of technical tasks in support of projects assigned to higher level scientists or engineers using established technology to investigate unsanitary or questionable conditions in assigned.
3. Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and other guidance to use in applying to assigned tasks in the areas of restoration, compliance, conservation, pollution prevention, and/or integration principles and practices.
4. Ability to establish effective working relationships with others.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
