What Does A Range Technician Do At Bae Systems

* Operating antenna test ranges under the supervision of senior operators.
* Performing routine measurements using multimeters, network analyzers, and other electronic and RF equipment.
* Must be proficient in standard computer usage (Microsoft Office).
* Ability to communicate clearly both written and verbally with senior engineering and management staff to convey any issues encountered during Range operations.
* Must be comfortable working in elevated spaces and assisting in loading and unloading test articles both by hand and by using hoists and similar equipment.
* Must have the ability to lift up to a 50 pound load.
* Routine chemical and material handling are normal duties for this position.

What Does A Range Technician Do At Ball Corporation/Ball Aerospace

* Configure the Range for RF operation.
* Utilize overhead cranes to move heavy / large tooling and equipment.
* Install and assemble defined Range test tooling.
* Set-up and calibrate the Range for test execution per documented procedure, specification or standard.
* Install and connect antennas to be tested.
* Execute RF tests per documented procedure.
* Process and plot required Range data files as defined.
* Sign-off on test operations certifying that tests have been conducted as specified in the product acceptance test procedure.

What Does A Range Technician Do At Bureau of Land Management

* The work of this position will serve to both train the incumbent in higher level technical range management work and to support the work of higher graded technicians and/or Rangeland Management Specialist.
* Thus, duties will include but are not limited to:
* Provides technical support and assistant in range conservation, range management, and range improvement.
* Collects information from records used in the development and revision of allotment plans, monitoring/inventory plans, range improvement plans, and grazing transfers.
* Collects data in the field such as available forage, stubble height, status/condition of range improvement projects, type and location of weeds, livestock trespass, and unauthorized use.
* Participates in on-the-ground projects (i.e., water systems, fencing, cattle guards, planting/seeding of vegetation, etc.).
* Makes observations of wildlife use, may serve on fire crews.
* GS-07 Duties**: At this level, the incumbent provides technical support and assistance in range conservation, range management, and range improvement.
* Thus, duties will include but are not limited to:
* Ensures all stipulation in grazing permits and leases under area of responsibility are complied with.
* Confers with permittees/lessees on general inquiries such as project maintenance and conditions.
* Assists in preparation of grazing lease/permits and in other range administration matters.
* Prepares billing documents, prepares range transfers documents.
* Trains and monitors crews carrying out duties.
* Conducts range studies (i.e., condition and trend, utilization, actual use, climatological, etc.).
* Coordinates with wildlife biologists and participates in identifying areas of wildlife use, needs and unique situations.
* Plans/conducts range use supervision and allotment inspections
