Summary/Objective
The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain facilities and facility equipment according to safety, maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the agency's business goals.
Essential Functions
Maintenance
At the direction of the Chief Facilities & Maintenance with guidance as necessary from program directors, perform maintenance - equipment and building repairs - for all agency facilities as required, including painting, minor electrical work, repairing/replacing all appliances, carpentry, plumbing, metal working, and plaster or dry wall repair.
Manage, monitor, and ensure all repair and preventative maintenance are completed according to the agency/manufacturer's specifications and guidelines.
Keep all agency facilities safe and in compliance with city, state, and federal standards.
Ensure fire extinguishers and emergency lights are functioning properly on a monthly basis.
Perform scheduled/preventive maintenance or repair on all heating/cooling units and plumbing systems as well as emergency maintenance.
Maintain an inventory of supplies and order supplies, replacement parts, tools, and equipment.
Receive assignments in the form of work orders through Bell Data System.
Keep all pathways of egress clear.
Responsible for emergency maintenance on call outside of traditional business hours, including weekends and holidays.
Custodial Support (as needed)
Ensure cleanliness and good order of all common areas of the appropriate buildings.
Perform intensive cleaning of client rooms upon client discharge.
Maintain interior and external light fixtures as needed for safety.
Must have reliable transportation.
Regular attendance and punctuality are required to perform job duties effectively.
Perform other duties as requested by the Chief Facilities & Maintenance Officer or as dictated by circumstances of growth and/or planning.
Required Education and Experience
Associates degree in related field or certificate in building maintenance with three (3) years experience in building maintenance. If no degree, then High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) with five (5) years in building maintenance.
Must have knowledge of the safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment.
Class E Driver's License.
Understanding of OSHA Guidelines.
Knowledge of HIPAA/privacy standards and professional boundaries.
Capability of interacting with clients who experience substance abuse, mental illness, homelessness, or HIV.
Certification in First Aid and CPR.
Passionate about the mission of PPCS and able to promote and communicate the philosophy, mission, and values of PPCS to external and internal stakeholders.
Sense of humor, integrity, impeccable work ethic.
Knowledge of Office 365.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisor responsibilities.
