Under the direction of the Site Supervisor & the Senior Program Director, the Lead Counselor is responsible for supervising a group of children. The Lead Counselor establishes relationships with children and their parents while providing a safe, pleasant and caring atmosphere during before care and aftercare. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Creates positive, nurturing relationships with children, while building cooperative relationships with parents/caregivers. Promotes and supports the potential of all youth in programs and facilitates peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall afterschool and before school experience. Hours Before Care: 6:30am-9:00am After Care: 2:00pm-6:00pm Monday-Friday, all lead counselors are intended to work 5 days a week, if flexible Schedule is needed, please have it prepared at interview.
