The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with deep expertise in managing HERS ratings for multifamily projects from schematic design through to final certification. This role requires a combination of technical proficiency in building science, exceptional project management skills, and proven ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of people, including developers, project managers, architects and engineers, general contractors and subcontractors, and certification program reviewers. The Senior ENERGY Rater will serve as a key technical resource for our clients and internal teams, ensuring projects meet strict energy efficiency goals, certification requirements, and deadlines. Key Responsibilities Field Work and Construction Support Conduct on-site inspections, verifications, and diagnostic testing (including unit and building blower door and duct leakage testing) in accordance with RESNET standards and green program requirements including Energy Star, LEED, EGC, and Phius; Prepare timely site visit reports, and participate in contractor briefings and trainings; Communicate effectively with site superintendents and subcontractors to provide clear guidance, identify potential issues, ensure proper implementation of green program principles, and minimize performance failures; Troubleshoot issues that arise during construction and provide actionable solutions to keep projects on track. Building Performance Analysis Complete plan take-offs and prepare energy models using Ekotrope software; Update plans with testing and verification results and respond to QA provider questions. Documentation & Reporting Perform plan reviews for program compliance and general constructibility; Prepare, organize, and submit all necessary documentation for HERS ratings, ENERGY STAR, LEED, EGC, Phius and other applicable certifications.
