1, 1975 — he was initially taken aback but soon recovered enough to ask whether there was any hope of establishing a nursing home in the district for their needy elderly parishioners rather than having them go all the way to Washington, D.C.
As early as June 21, 1977, the following officers were elected to lead the newly formed Board of Directors: Earl Yingling, chairman; Eileen Dutterer Welsh Gist and Harris Frock, co-chairpersons; Donald Lawyer, treasurer.
The land was finally purchased in April 1979.
