Diakon Behavioral Health Services#offers a range of counseling and behavioral services to children, teens, families and adult individuals. Services are provided through counseling centers in Mechanicsburg, Lewisburg, Montoursville, Williamsport,#within several public-school buildings and Chester County. Specialized programs include family-based mental health services, provided in the community and in-home, addiction counseling, trauma-focused therapy and SPIN, a service designed to assist children and youths who have problematic sexual behaviors. # General Responsibilities: Provides support to consumers in all life domains, including development of healthy relationships, recovery support, obtaining employment and accessing stable housing.# Provides support before, during, and after formal treatment when authorized. Provides outreach and advocacy for those in the early stages of recovery. Performs follow-up activities with participants who have completed programs, are in need of engagement or re-admission.# Establishes and maintains processional and supportive relationships with consumers, families, referring personnel, treatment providers, and others involved in the lives of consumers.# Identifies emergency or crisis situations and facilitate access to appropriate resources. # Education/Training: Eighteen (18) years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED required. Some college coursework preferred. Also required is an active Pennsylvania certification as a Recovery or Peer Specialist based on Diakon program assignment or obtain the required certification within six (6) months from date of employment.# # Experience: A minimum of 24 months of continuous#personal and lived recovery experience. One (1) year of working with individuals struggling with substance use and mental health orders preferred.#Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.; visual and auditory skills. # Compensation and Benefits: Diakon offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
