WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON: You will work with many cross functional team members on a portfolio of Brand collections and platforms. Key Responsibilities: • Assist with directives and work projects including keeping the team on track, participate in recruiting and interviewing new designers with the director. • Responsible to deliver the fashion needs of the DJG juvenile line across all brands and potential brand opportunities, as well as the collaborate with soft goods team from design to production. • Research POS data, competition, market, trends, history, & create fashions to meet the needs of each key account and Brand. • Provide Sales and Licensing with presentation tools that communicate the vision & strategy of the fashion design team. • Search for new fabrics by working with existing vendors, potential vendors, attending tradeshows, trend shopping, etc. to have full knowledge of trends in the market, trends in our categories and how they apply to DJG in order to differentiate from competition. • Initiate fabric development by setting the standards for production • Complete fashion specs for samples and final production. • Collaborate with soft goods team on design that will elevate the aesthetics of the product and collection. • Review and approve fabrics, plastics, tubes and full samples. • Work with the soft goods team on cut & sew pad designs. • Travel both domestically and internationally is required. WHAT YOU BRING: • Bachelor's Degree in Design or equivalent combination of education and experience and training. • 7+ years' related design experience. • Must know Adobe Illustrator. Adobe Photoshop is a nice to have. • Must be a proactive, positive team member and self-motivator that can deliver results. • Eye for color, willingness to learn color matching and new programs. • Demonstrated ability to create designs within set timelines. • Keep all design concepts/materials (fabrics/metals/plastics) filed and organized • Work with team for sourcing new fabrics/trims etc. • Ability to come up with new and innovative ideas for product to elevate brands • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team on designs and share in the workload.
