Plan and organize daily work, materials, equipment, and manpower to meet production targets

Position coordinates within various divisions of the Police Department relating to the protection of life and property; enforce state/federal law and municipal ordinances; preserve order throughout the community; and respond to community needs.
Minimum Qualification: High school diploma or GED (college degree or college course work in criminal justice preferred), valid driver's license by date of application, a good driving record, pass a comprehensive written exam, physical agility test, oral board interview, polygraph exam, psychological evaluation, undergo an extensive background investigation with ability to render credible testimony in a court of law, pass a medical exam and drug screen, successfully complete a state certified police academy for a Class "A", P.O.S.T. certification with a minimum 600 hours, (must be at least 21 years of age prior to completion of the academy), successfully complete a Field Training Officer program, and serve a 12 month probationary period after commissioning. Bilingual Skills Preferred.

Starting Hourly Rate: $26.83 (Recruit/Non-POST Certified Candidate while attending academy); $29.81(POST Certified-less than 4 years of law enforcement experience); $34.15 (4-8 years of full time law enforcement experience); $38.73 (8+ years of full time law enforcement experience).

Written Examination and Physical Agility Test: Certified officers will be required to take a physical agility test ONLY. Non-Certified officers will be required to take both a written test and a physical agility test. (Gym clothes required) Both Certified and Non-Certified applicants selected to test will be notified by e-mail of the time and location of the testing.
