Negotiate and draft leases, purchase and sale agreements, and various other commercial real estate documents, including lease amendments, ground leases, condominium documents, development agreements, reciprocal easement agreements, construction agreements, subleases, SNDAs, estoppel certificates, letter agreements, and default notices. Provide prompt legal guidance to various in-house clients (including property development, construction, operations, finance, and risk) regarding lease and easement provisions, operational issues, violations, signage, construction issues, access agreements, landlord/tenant disputes, and repair and maintenance issues. Conduct legal diligence for new locations, including analyzing title and survey and identify potential environmental risk and liability. Work with and manage outside counsel as necessary Assist in management of real estate related litigation and dispute resolution. Assist in updating the Company's real estate documents and forms and legal processes. Assist local land use counsel with respect to zoning, permitting, incentives and similar matters. Job Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and J. D. from a top college or university Admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, or eligible to practice pursuant to MA SJC Rule 4:02 (9) 4-7 years' experience in real estate law at an AmLaw100 firm and/or in-house environment Demonstrated experience as real estate deal counsel, particularly leasing experience, preferably with some or all such experience on behalf of retail organization(s) Team player with a sense of humor Excellent verbal and written communication skills Flexible and willing to pitch in wherever new issues arise Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects with limited supervision This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days. In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ's Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary.
