Required Qualifications
Perform preliminary safety check of assigned equipment prior to daily operation and record/report problems or defects to Supervisor or Equipment Mechanic.-Operate receiving equipment to move pallets of merchandise to various storage locations-Read put away labels to determine storage location of merchandise and verity item is correct-Transport merchandise from staging area to storage area, using equipment or hand truck-Assist and instruct vendors as to height and stacking patterns for each pallet to be received in order to sort and segregate merchandise-Accurately count the number of cartons/pallets of each item received.-Accurately complete appropriate purchase order/worksheet for each item received.-Assist in unloading merchandise, using power equipment or hand truck. Tag each pallet with correct item number, purchase order number and date received-Total all quantities and complete general information (vendor name, freight bill number, etc.) on purchase order/worksheet after all items have been received-Sign driver's freight bill noting overages, shortages, refusals, and damages-Ability to unload merchandise using power equipment or hand truck, sorting, segregating, and stocking merchandise on pallets with or without assistance-Additional assigned duties from management

+ Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming shipment. Record the correct count and pallet type for input upon completion of the PO.
+ Record shipment data into computer system, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and record-keeping purposes. Maintain accurate counts on inbound freight to insure appropriate warehouse storage availability.
