• Ability to work in an ISO 8 cleanroom, with required cleanroom gowning such as lab coat, hairnet, beardnets, and latex-free gloves at all times while in the cleanroom performing daily task.
• Perform visual inspection duties per SOP, verifying identity, quantity, and potential defects as defined for the product; accept or reject product during inspection process.
• Re-palletize, label, and handle cartons.
• Communicate any shipping damages, product shortages, or rejected material via e-mail notification to necessary departments.
• Inspect customer product returns, enter disposition of RGA.
• Ensure all damaged or rejected material is labeled and segregated from approved material, re-box and/or re-bag damaged cartons/material when needed.
• Prepare rejected material for return to supplier.
• Follow controlled ISO and Environmental/Heath/Safety procedures.

• Measure cartons and add dimensions to PC-based system (box-size database).

Responsible for incoming inspections of various parts per paperwork and drawings to support all phases of assembly and manufacturing. Must have solid experience and understanding of reading parts paperwork, drawings/ blueprints. Computer experience is required and must be able to fully understand the workmanship acceptance criteria used on the production floor. Must have a thorough knowledge of all paperwork/documentation associated with the receiving inspection functions, also must be able to properly document in a neat and legible manner, all types of errors or discrepancies found. Must have a thorough knowledge of the correct procedures to follow and precautions to take when performing their work in order to prevent damage to equipment and/or material and injury to self and/or others. Must maintain a neat and orderly work/inspection area. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. This is a first shift position. May require the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Must have IPC certification, or ability to obtain certification. If this cannot be acquired, job consideration may be in jeopardy.
- Must know how to use basic measuring equipment and instruments used to continuity check various assemblies/components.
- Must have basic computer literacy.
- Near vision of 20/20 and far vision of 20/50 is required. This may be achieved with corrective lenses, which then must be used during inspections and tests. Color perception must be normal if the nature of a particular task demands it.

About this role:
The inspector provides an independent, unbiased evaluation of materials or the work of others. The results of the Inspector's evaluation is documented and communicated to organizational stakeholders with an interest in the evaluation's outcome - typically, this is supplier development and/ or manufacturing. The Inspector's approval certifies the work or material meets Guidant's quality system requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Audits materials or the work of others through the examination, inspection, measurement, or test of raw materials, components, sub assemblies, final assemblies and documentation.
* Documents the non-conformance or suspected non-conformance to standards (i.e. manufacturing documentation, material/ component specifications, operating procedures, and domestic/ international standards) through the identification of unsuccessful audits, the completion of required paperwork, system transactions, and affixing his or her mark (i.e. stamp, sign-off or signature).
* Handle discrepant materials per the documented disposition and document activities in the appropriate systems or paperwork.
* Communicates the status of audit metrics and other assignments, responsibilities, and duties verbally and through the completion and publishing of periodic reports.
* Performs simple statistical analysis through the collection and input of data into software applications or manual calculations
* Issues, stores, count and maintains inventory into the different storage areas. Handles, disposes, transfer and document appropriately hazardous waste. Perform environmental monitoring (Puerto Rico).
* Reads, comprehends and follows basic job instructions and/or protocols including verbal, written, diagramed, colored, etc. and other work related documents; written in English.
