RECREATION LEADER I - CONCESSIONS COOK - PARKS, RECREATION, & TOURISM

Minimum Training & Experience
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent, a valid driver's license and experience in the food and beverage industry is preferred but not required. This position will work a schedule requiring evening and weekend shifts.

Essential Job Functions
The Parks, Recreation and Tourism department is seeking seasonal applicants to prepare food for daily concessions for recreational league sports, weekend tournaments and scheduled caterings throughout the year for Rock Hill PRT concessions venues. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction, continued catering success, and daily operations at our parks.
Prepare, serve and organize catering requests.
Operate large volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep fryers, or griddles.
Verify that prepared foods meet requirements for quality and quantity.
Wash, cut, and prepare foods designed for cooking.
Read orders aloud from kitchen printer or receive verbal instructions as to food required by patron and prepare and cook food according to instructions.
Cook and prepare food items such as: hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken tenders.
Cook items ordered by each customer, working on several different orders simultaneously.
Pre-cook items in small quantity for later use by keeping them warm to prevent food waste.
Serve orders to customers at window and counter.
Clean, stock, and re-stock workstations daily.
Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
Performs all other duties as may be assigned to meet organizational needs.

The Bardmoor Branch of the YMCA is currently looking for a Sports & Rec Attendant with basic knowledge of the rules of the game for basketball, soccer, and/or volleyball. Responsible for reffing and teaching the basic fundamentals of sports to children ages 5 and up. Responsibilities include fostering an environment where participants build self-esteem, enhance athletic skills and gain valuable life lessons focused on the core values of the YMCA. Safety is of the utmost importance, along with providing personalized attention, support and motivation for all participants.
Primary Responsibilities

* Sets up and breaks down program areas, ensuring that all areas are safe and clean.
* Supports officials, staff and coaches during practice and games.
* Responds to and properly documents all incidents, member/guest concerns, injuries, etc.
* Supports Youth Development Director for sports and recreation season kick-offs and end of the season activities, as well as branch special events such as Healthy Kids Day, Family Fun Days, etc.
* Distributes and collects program surveys, as well as marketing materials to increase registration.
* Implements first aid and safety procedures according to YMCA Greater St. Petersburg policies.
* Promotes/supports the recruitment of volunteers and assists with their training, development and recognition.

Qualifications

* Minimum age of 16.
* Experience working with young children preferred.
* Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills required.
* Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
* Knowledge and/or experience in coaching and delivering an organized quality program is preferred.
* Certifications: CPR/AED and First Aid required in first 90 days of employment.
* Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift an equivalent of 30 pounds.

The City of Goodyear is looking for Recreation Leaders - Youth Sports Site Supervisor/ Officials. The purpose of this position is to provide excellent customer service to all program patrons by exemplifying a positive attitude and exceeding the needs of patrons. This position will assist the Recreation Coordinator or Recreation Programmer preparing coordinating youth sport programs, which may include procuring supplies, scheduling, setting up sties, monitoring, and/or performing other related activities. Position performs tasks related to routine day to day operations, assisting and organizing the setup, coordination and tear down of sport programs.

Requirements

Experience working in a youth/adult sports setting is highly preferred. Some college or equivalent experience preferred. Must provide proof of CPR and First Aid Certifications within one month of hire date.

A valid Driver's License is preferred.

Essential Functions

* Supervises and implements the execution of an activity, event or program with minimal direction. Exercises the necessary supervision of personnel to meet the needs of the activity, event or program.
* Communicates to Recreation Coordinator or Recreation Programmer regarding incidents, decisions and issues pertaining to activities, events or programs. Responsible for the completion and filing of accident and statistical reports regarding incidents and issues pertaining to programs, as required.
* Supervises and implements the distribution, care and use of supplies and/or equipment for assigned programs.
* Ensure proper maintenance of recreational facilities and equipment to provide a safe and sanitary environment, notifies supervisor of any problems and/or concerns.
* Ensure City policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are strictly enforced; responds to and resolves complaints; advises and provides assistance to individuals and groups on related recreational problems; assist the general public and responds to their questions, comments, and/or concerns.
* Performs on-site program inspections and evaluations to ensure compliance with program and city safety policies and procedures.
* Maintains awareness of new developments in the recreation field and offer suggestions to the Recreation Programmer or Coordinator.
* Attend meetings as assigned. Assist with other recreation programs, as requested. Some positions may require the performance of additional position accountabilities and/or related duties.
* Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
