5 Common Career Paths For a Recruiting Lead

Recruitment Manager

The primary job of recruitment managers is to find and recruit job candidates to fill job vacancies. They typically work for companies or recruiting agencies. Recruitment managers are responsible for a few tasks, including identifying prospective candidates, defining job descriptions, and conducting job interviews. They are also responsible for developing recruiting procedures, overseeing the entire recruitment team, and selecting job advertising options. Most employers prefer someone with experience as a recruitment manager or related position, knowledge of labor law, and a bachelor's degree in human resources management.

Talent Acquisition Manager

A talent acquisition manager is in-charged in the selection, recruitment, and retention of talented candidates. The core skills that a talent acquisition manager should possess to accomplish his/her or her job responsibilities include excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to multi-task, and knowledge of human resource laws. Other requirements to qualify for the position include a passion for working with others and a degree in human resources management, business administration, or a related field.

Human Resources Manager

Human resources managers, or HR managers, are responsible for the overall conduct of the different facets of human resources in the organization. They oversee the different processes involved in recruitment, compensation and benefits, talent development, organizational development, employee relations, and employee engagement. It is important that HR managers are well-versed in the different facets of HR. They set policies and procedures, as well as guiding principles of the organization related to these facets. They must be able to balance the needs of the employees and the rules of the management team. HR managers should have strong decision-making skills, interpersonal skills, and management skills.

Senior Corporate Recruiter

The main job of a senior recruiter is to provide businesses with staffing services. Senior recruiters seek out potential talents, conduct an interview with candidates, and assist in the recruitment process. Their job involves the analysis of business operations to identify the departments benefiting from the newly added staff. They design and enforce hiring strategy. Skills in communication, marketing, relationship building, time management, and listening are necessary for this job.

Human Resources Business Partner

Human resource (HR) business partners' primary job is to ensure that business objectives are aligned with the management and employees within an organization. They typically focus more on developing HR strategy than implementing the company policies. They often work with individual business units, and their work is related to the company's current and future success. HR business partners are also responsible for providing performance management guidance, developing contract terms for new employees, transfers, and promotions, and providing advice on business units.
