Founded in 1937, RectorSeal started as a manufacturer of specialty chemical sealants.
The company was established in 1937 in Houston, TX, as a division of Rector Well Corporation of Ft.
RectorSeal’s continued growth led to the company’s acquisition by Capital Southwest Corporation in 1969.
In 1991, RectorSeal acquired Metacaulk, a leader in the firestopping industry.
In 1995, an on-site fire test laboratory was built to conduct Underwriter Laboratories (UL) witnessed burns for through-penetration and construction joint assemblies.
Due to continuous growth, RectorSeal moved to its current headquarters location in Houston, TX, in 1998.
In 2011, RectorSeal acquired Airtec, an HVAC mechanical and plastics manufacturer located in Fall River, MA.

The company’s acquisition program continued in 2021 when TRUaire became RectorSeal’s largest brand.
