Ever heard of other workers around that got robbed when opening a kiosk?

To be honest, it doesn't happen. We are nervous, especially in some areas, about our personal safety but people love the redbox guy! You'll find some places that actually have people who watch out for the redbox/redbox employee. They use the machine and we pass them a free code now and again. But this is in the worst areas. Crime and vandalism are rampant and they keep an eye on our kiosk. Good people...

Were you paid per job or paid for being "on call" for 8-12 hours? Were there any perks like free rentals, or were those strictly prohibited? Is there just some big warehouse central warehouse somewhere or lots of small satellite warehouses near large numbers of red boxes?

I was paid per hour I was on the job. We could watch movies for free, but honestly when you handle several thousand a week, you don't want to. And we have several smaller warehouses over the country.

How much were you paid? Did you have to drive your own car?

Pay was alright. And yes I used my own vehicle but got reimbursed for the mileage and wear and tear on my car. It was good pay, but you put it right back into your car or eating out every day...in hindsight, i should have made my lunch more >.>

I'm not very familiar with that job, what exactly did you? You also mentioned you were always on call, how much of your time did you spend working vs. waiting for the call?

My job was to clean/maintain/stock the kiosks in a given area. On call was if something happened to one of them and they broke down or went "offline", they would call me and I had two hours to get to them and get them operational.
