Work may include trash and recycling material removal, meeting room set-up. Involves the management, long-range planning, organization, coordination, oversight and / or performance of multiple operational activities and services for one or more buildings, including space planning, general maintenance, specialized facility systems and operations, call center triage and tracking of repair services, move planning and coordination, development of procedures, policies and communications related to infrastructure and safety. This position is a limited term appointment that is 10% variable. Pay Scale: $21.56/hour to $24.26/hour Job Posting Close Date: This job is open until filled. Dust, clean, wax and / or polish furniture, woodwork, light fixtures, venetian blinds, grills, ducts, whiteboards, filing cabinets and other designated area of equipment. Empties wastebaskets and recycling containers. Mop, clean and disinfect restrooms, shower rooms, with responsibility to replenishing supplies. Wash doors, glass, mirrors, showcases, glass panels, inside windows and outside windows at ground level. Polish metal fixtures, wastebaskets and other receptacles. 40% Unclog minor drain stoppages. Vacuum rugs, upholstered furniture, or other designated materials. Operates floor buffers, shampoo machine, wet / dry vacuums, waxers, floor scrubbing and / or polishing machines during stripping, waxing, buffing and / or other related cleaning operations. Have security responsibility for one or more assigned areas. Assist in the setting up and dismantling of special equipment at functions. Load and / or unload large trash receptacles. 20% Security responsibility for one or more assigned areas. Act as a work leader for small group of Custodians (usually less than 5). Make reports on building and/or equipment needs. Requirements: Ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic calculations, and follow oral and written instructions. Six months of experience in a custodial cleaning operation or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Special Conditions of Employment: Must possess valid California Driver's License to drive a County or University vehicle. Ability and means to travel on a flexible schedule as needed, proof of liability damage insurance on vehicle used is required. Reimbursement of job-related travel will be reimbursed according to University policies.
