Redflex company history timeline

2007

A Tribune analysis of more than 4 million tickets issued since 2007 and a deeper probe of individual cases reveal clear evidence that a series of sudden, unexplainable spikes in Chicago's network of 380 cameras were caused by faulty equipment, human tinkering or both.

2008

The city says it may add cameras at 40 more intersections in 2008.

Since beginning its red-light camera program in 2008, the program has brought in more than $3.6 million.

2010

Redflex disputes much of the memo, saying it thoroughly investigated the allegations internally and found them without merit except for one hotel stay for Bills at the Arizona Biltmore in 2010 that was inadvertently paid for by Redflex.

2012

That’s a significant decrease from their 2012 peak, when about 540 communities operated red-light cameras.

2013

The Tribune reports that fired Redflex executive Rosenberg filed a lawsuit in October 2013 alleging that the company doled out bribes and gifts at “dozens of municipalities” in 13 states outside Illinois, and disclosing that he was is cooperating in the federal probe.
