Summary Assists surgeon by anticipating the required instruments and supplies to perform the procedure in accordance with the documented surgeon's preferred routine for a given procedure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by OOMC management. Tests patient's far acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception. Examines eye for abnormalities of cornea, and anterior and posterior chambers. Applies drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes. Measures intraocular pressure of eyes (glaucoma test). Tests patient's field of vision, including central and peripheral vision, for defects, and charts test results on graph paper. Measures axial length of eye. Performs other tests and measurements as requested by Ophthalmologist. Assists Ophthalmologist with medical procedures. Orders, receives and maintains medical supplies. Gives instructions to patients concerning eye care. Maintains clinical area, exam rooms, and Doctor's work station clean and orderly. Closes down exam rooms properly, powering down medical equipment. Performs routine and delegated duties in preparing the operating room appropriately for the procedure. Assembles necessary supplies and equipment for the scheduled procedure in accordance with surgeon's preference. Checks equipment to assure proper working conditions. Follows principles of aseptic technique in opening sterile packages and performing duties in preparation for the surgical procedure. Arranges instruments according to routine for given procedure. Confirms that instruments work properly. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon to assure that instruments and supplies are available and delays are avoided. Conscientiously reports any observed or suspected break in sterile technique and takes action according to policy. Observes safety measures in patient care activities. Assists in maintaining adequate supplies in the operating room to insure availability during procedure. Assists in work area in cleaning, storage, packaging and sterilizing instruments. OOMC is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Traveling Medical Receptionist. As a Traveling Medical Receptionist you will provide administrative support to our medical offices to ensure seamless patient care and efficient front office operations. Summary Provides support with the daily activities at the Front Desk in the Medical Office including; Check-in, Check-out and ICS management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as determined by OOMC Management. Travels to other locations as needed. Responsible for completing the check-in/ registration process according to guidelines by; accurately entering all pertinent patient information, confirming insurance benefit eligibility completion at the time of service, collecting and posting copayments, preparing electronic encounters in EPM and EHR for billing and clinical use, confirming referring physicians, obtaining and entering all meaningful use criteria, enrolling patients in Patient Portal, including necessary paperwork brought in by patient or sent in by referring OD for the doctors to review, and reconciling all copayments collected. Responsible for completing the check-out/ discharge process according to guidelines by; providing patients with their next appointment as indicated on fee ticket, providing patient education as directed, entering data for meaningful use, forwards MRI and Medicaid precertification requests to appropriate personnel, and reconciles daily collections then forwards all fee tickets to the billing staff daily. Lab Specimen Collection: After receiving and reviewing laboratory orders, obtain blood specimens. Identify the patient by having the patient state their first and last name and date of birth and compare it to the RCCA ID number. Review all specimens for acceptability. Instructs patients in the proper collection of twenty-four-hour urines. Verifies that the containers contain the proper preservative and instruct the patient in refrigeration or acid precautions if appropriate. Lab Quality Control: Investigate all out-of-range results and document the corrective action taken. Laboratory Testing: After assuring satisfactory QC and instrument function, perform CBC on the Hematology Analyzer.
