Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general direction of the Director of Regional Sales, effectively and efficiently increase the distribution and sales of Applegate portfolio through designated assigned territories.

* Develops, implements, and executes sales and distribution plans at the account level.
* Collaborates with their Field Sales Manager and Sales Strategy Department to develop annual Sales plans that are aligned with those of the operating units.
* Identifies threats and opportunities in the categories that we compete in that could affect sales volume, market share, trade efficiencies and profitability to the company and communicates them to their Field Sales Manager.
* Aligns the DSMP's established by the Applegate Sales Strategy Department to ensure the execution of distribution, shelving, merchandising, and pricing (DSMP) objectives are met.
* Interprets information from Category Analytics team and Associate National Category Manager regarding category sales, brand sales, share growth and promotional efficiency. From this information the incumbent provides insights and recommendations on tactics used to drive sales on Applegate products.
* Is responsible for continuing to develop and enhance their competencies through participation in learning and development workshops. These include, but not limited to training available at the local, regional, and national meetings intended to improve selling techniques, knowledge of the customer and company, and other business practice.
* Conducts routine discussions with the customer reviewing trade practices and efficiencies recommending new tactics that are mutually beneficial in delivering profitable sales.
* Achieve quarterly and annual net sales revenue numbers, budget & profit goals for your assigned region. Provide monthly sales reports, monthly expense reports, and any assigned reports to Field Sales Manager (or Director of Regional Sales as applicable) in a timely manner.
* Manage the broker network in your region with support from the Director of Regional Sales. Educate, motivate, and monitor the broker sales force. Convey all company directives, objectives, philosophy, selling points of products, budgetary constraints and how to merchandise the products most effectively. Work with broker sales force in training sessions, market tours, store sets/resets, sales calls and shows.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

* A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
* Minimum of 3-5 years of sales/marketing/sales strategy experience to include retailer experience with regional grocers.
* Demonstrated ability to understand and apply business analytics
* A pattern of initiative
* Proven problem solving and decision-making skills
* The ability to work in a team environment on a variety of complex projects
