POSITION PROFILE:

The candidate will also represent SAS by participating in customer presentations, industry organizations, conferences, and panels. Expected travel for this position is up to 25%. Basic Qualifications:
* B.S. degree in a relevant field plus 10 years of experience in aerospace and defense (experience in lieu of degree will be considered)
* Experience working in hardware manufacturing environments for both commercial and government contracts
* Basic understanding of machine shop capabilities, electrical component manufacturing, lean manufacturing, and AS9100 compliance
* Current, multi-level relationships within a variety of DoD, civil, and commercial customers
* Knowledge/understanding of current and future hardware needs within the aerospace and defense market
* Knowledge and understanding of the U.S. Government's competitive acquisition process
* Experience with proposal and capture management
* Experience training and leading a cross-functional team through a formal proposal process
* Track record of successful capture and pipeline management across multiple customers
* Experience building industry teams, assessing win probability, and executing customer call plans to shape acquisitions, respond to, and win business with new and existing customers
* Ability to gain internal support, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, and establish a solid working relationship with leadership and technical staff
* Current and active Secret clearance and eligibility for upgrade
Preferred Qualifications:
* 20+ years of experience in aerospace and defense (at Government and/or industry jobs)
* Knowledge of the leadership, organization, functions, and acquisition approaches of various DoD components, such as combatant commands and the armed services R&D groups
* Experience working with hardware components for hypersonics and other military/civil/commercial programs
* Experience in program planning, budgeting, workforce planning, risk management, and implementation of project processes and controls
* Experience in large hardware manufacturing program management
* Experience transitioning prototypes to production or Programs of Record (PORs)
* Current and active Top Secret clearance and eligibility for SCI
