Regis College company history timeline

1927

Regis College was founded in 1927 by the Sisters of St Joseph of Boston - A Catholic order that started a school within four days of arriving in Boston from France.

1943

Regis expanded its course of studies in 1943 to include theological preparation for priestly ordination.

1979

In 1979, Regis, together with the other TST colleges, entered into an agreement with U of T to grant conjoint degrees in theology.

1988

In the summer of 1988, Loretto Heights College closed its doors 70 years after its founding in Denver by the Sisters of Loretto.

1991

Three of its academic programs moved to Regis College and provided the foundation for the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions and the College for Professional Studies (now School for Professional Advancement), ultimately allowing us to become Regis University in 1991.

2007

After eight decades as a women's only college, Regis enrolled its first co-educational class in fall 2007.
